Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

Having just moved into a new apartment in a new state, I’ve been going through the boxes and purging for a second time (the first was while I was packing). I’ve been donating books, clothes & housewares, which has been a really great bonus in addition to paring down my belongings. My next big project to help with my ever ongoing spring cleaning (let’s be honest), is building some bookcases and drawers to hold all of my paperwork and craft supplies. Wish me luck!

We ‘spring clean’ about 3-4 times a year. Especially with summer/winter guests and 2 little baby girls and 2 little stinky dogs.

I just adopted a year old labrador retreiver mix breed dog. The poor girl has been abandoned or in shelters her whole life. My husband and I are giving her all the love we can to get her to come out of her shell!

With all the love and petting she is getting…WE are getting lots-o-fur to clean up! With a scared little doggie and hardwood floors, we don’t bust out the vacuum all to often. We are sweepers/hand vac sucker upers!

This whole package would sure help our new situation!!! Thanks Sherry & John! You guys are awesome! Hope you are feeling good Sherry!

Oh gosh…spring cleaning. So nice when it’s finished but, oh, where to begin. We have a plan that we’re going to put into action in the next couple weeks. Involves washing the windows and most of the walls, washing our window treatments, cleaning out and re-arranging closets, and cleaning and straightening the garage. Then we’ll tackle our basement space since we know we won’t want to be down there when the weather turns nice and spring-like. C’mon Spring!

We spent most of my three-day weekend spring cleaning and it felt fabulous. We bought new dishes and towels so we could get rid of all our hand-me-down, mis-matched stuff. After a quick trip to the Salvation Army and some craigslist selling, we’ll be all ready for spring!

    Clean me …

My spring cleaning ritual is very Japanese. Having lived in Japan for nearly two years, I fell in synch with the significance of a thorough deep clean on the occasion of a new year and other meaningful events, like welcoming in the cherry blossoms. My home is cleaned in some capacity every day, but I’ll be doing my next deep clean when I hear the cherry trees are blossoming in Hiroshima. :o)

I will be sending soil samples off this week so that I can get my spring garden planted. I’m having my second baby girl in a couple of weeks and just went through all of my first baby girl’s clothes – washed, ironed, and hung up. I do have a big black lab and need to sweep/vacuum after him.

I was inspired by your awesome closet show-all! I’ve even ordered some of the cool ceramic egg-crate organizers you suggested :) I tore down the wire closet organizers in the walk-in Master Bedroom closet of my new condo, puttied, sanded and repainted, and am going to be purchasing a new closet organizer system. Anyone used Easy Closets? Then I’ll be going through everything and hopefully giving a LOT away to charity! :)
