Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

Hmmm….I’ve ate Rocky Mountain Oysters a time or two. I guess that is kind of living life on the edge. If you don’t know what they are a simple Google search will do. Sounds delicious huh?

EDGE ME! We live life on the edge by being the only liberals in a community of staunch, conservative Southern Baptist conservatives. It’s a hard-knock life for us! Teehee.

Let’s see… I guess my “edgy” side was moving to Denver from the small college town in Washington where i grew up and went to school, on a whim and without knowing anyone. 4 years later and I am head over heels for Colorado :)

EDGE ME! I love things like rollercoaseter and jumping off cliffs into water. I think skydiving would be awesome. Ooh there was this one time my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) and I decided to follow a police chase which we kind of accidentally ended up in the middle of a raid! The guy hid in a house in a bad side of town and the police chopper was flying above with about 20 cop cars around. Luckily we convinced the cops out on the street we were just looking for a friends house and got lost! It was pretty scary but a fun story to tell. Won’t be doing that again! HA!

The edgiest thing I’ve done lately is just edge my lawn. Oh, excitement. Probably the coolest/edgiest thing I’ve done was go to China and spend 10 days at an art base in the mountains in a panda reserve. Awesome.

I think the closest thing to living on the edge for me is four wheeling. It’s not just your normal cruise-around-an-open-field-at-10mph four wheeling – I have a sport quad that I like to drive somewhat fast. I actually crashed it earlier this year and thankfully didn’t get too hurt. Just bumps and bruises but you have to watch out for those trees, they just jump out at you!

I don’t live near the edge on a daily basis, but I’m not afraid of taking a chance. I moved halfway around the world eight years ago. Then two years ago moved all the way back, but just six months later made a big (though domestic) move.
