Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

    EDGE ME!
I live on the edge by planning a wedding, getting married, buying a house, getting a masters, diying our house, and cooking dinner every night all while getting through med school.

I thought rock climbing, snowboarding, and rafting made me an adventurous person until I met my husband. He used to get paid to jump out of helicopters!
Fast forward- we have a new baby and our idea of living on the edge is drinking coffee past 3pm :)

Edge me! Loving how ‘edgy’ your readers are… I have a motorcycle license (though I’ve not driven a motorcycle since I was 16 and my dad made me take the course to get my license…ha). :) Makes for good icebreakers and similar games.. people think that I’m much more of a daredevil than I really am!

Edge Me! I’m a volunteer EMT/Firefighter, so every so often I find myself pulling the injured out of cars, dragging hoses toward burning houses, and trying to make some peace and safety out of chaos and danger. Speaking of danger, my walls are dangerously boring. I’d love to stencil something beautiful onto them!

Edge me! Taking regular plane trips when I’m terrified of flying is me living on the edge. I was actually happy to jump out of the plane when I went skydiving, being in the plane scared me more!

I usually don’t get too crazy close to the edge because the few times I have, I’ve gotten injured!

EDGE ME! I try to live on the edge by constantly looking for avenues of self-expression (be it doodling, painting canvas, or redoing furniture *my latest project, which a stencil could really come in handy for*) and doing things that the Mr. doesn’t understand (dyeing my hair pink anyone??)

Call it my “girly” side – so…edge me! I think I could find a new stencil for my oasis of calm I like to call my apartment.

I guess you could say that I live my life on the edge on a somewhat daily basis considering that I’m an ER (emergency room) technician as well as run full time on an ambulance doing 911 calls and to round off my edges, I’m a volunteer firefighter as well! :)

It’s an everyday occurance for me to either be performing CPR, bandaging some nasty wounds, or even running into a burning building (though lately – not that many fires have popped up!) But when I get home, all I want to do is relax, craft and read.

Well, I’m not a big risk taker. BUT we did just buy a used car WITH ALMOST ALL OUR SAVINGS from some nice people … Of course, we mitigated the risk by having our mechanic check it out, but it seemed like a big leap from one vehicle to two!

Living on the edge for us really just means a bluff, which our house overlooks. And we’re so safety-silly that we built way far away from the bluff. You know, just in case.

Edge me! I am mostly boring, but I like to rearrange our furniture on a regular basis. I am actually sort of disappointed if we have friends over and the furniture is the same as it was the last time those friends were here. I like hearing the, “wow this is different!” comments that usually come with company. :)
