Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

EDGE ME! Sometimes I throw caution to the wind and buy something that isn’t on my list at the grocery store…

Edge me! I definitely don’t live on the edges. Probably the edgiest thing I’ve done this year is travel to France with Dan, my husband. We had been wanting to for three years, and finally decided to book the plane flight!

I sometimes like to not wash my hands in the middle of the night when I go to the bathroom. We are pretty non-risk takers around here :)

Edge me!! And I love whitewater rafting. OK, so I’ve only done it twice, and both times on baby rapids, but I’m still counting that.

I live on the edge by having a glass of wine. I enjoy it, but I hurt so bad the next day.

I think the only edgy thing I’ve done in recent years was get the heck out of retail and get a “regular” job. Only required picking up and moving to the Midwest, where I only knew three people!

“EDGE ME!” I tend to need a “jump off a cliff” type moment in my life every now and again. Once was moving to Europe for a year. I have a feeling another is coming up soon~

Edge me. Going into business for myself is probably the riskiest thing I’ve ever done. It doesn’t just affect me, but my husband and our lifestyle, too.

    EDGE ME!

Do illegal chickens count as “edgy”? We have a small (6) backyard flock that we feed an organic layer blend so that we don’t have to pay $6 for a dozen organic, free-range eggs.

The only problem is that we live in the middle of suburbia where they’re not allowed. We live in TN, and even tho they passed a law in Nashville making it legal to own chickens within city limits, it isn’t even an issue on the table in the city where we live…

Is it possible that our eggs taste so much better than the ones from the store not just because they’re fresh, but because they’re outlawed??? Hehe…

OR IS IT BECAUSE THEY COULD WIN ME A WALL STENCIL?! ::Hint, hint, wink, wink::

    EDGE ME!

I was dissatisfied with the lack of edginess in my life, so I decided to get a facial piercing. Until my husband found out (didn’t think he would care) and begged on his knees for me not to do it. So I’m still looking for a good “edge” for my look and/or life.

Edge me! I lived life on the edge just this past weekend. I painted our former linen closet bright green and now use it as a display/bookshelf. To paint something so bold is edgy for me! I think the gingko design would look pretty nifty over the bright green too :)

EDGE ME! The craziest thing I have ever done is getting engaged to my now husband after only knowing him 5 months and only dating long distance during that time. We got married just under a year after meeting each other. We jumped in with both feet haven’t looked back. It has been almost 6 great years.
