Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

Edge Me! I am teaching my 16 year old son how to drive! His second day of driving, he hit a tree next to our driveway. Haha! No damage to either tree or car, and I couldn’t stop laughing at his expression when he hit it!

EDGE ME! My favorite “living on the edge” moment was last year when I was studying abroad in Turkey. The school where my group was working wanted to host a send off party for us, and the principal spent all morning cooking this dish that is considered a luxury for them. Not wanting to be rude, I ate two of them. Want to know what this dish was? Essentially, raw hamburger meat that’s been ground by hand with rice and lemon juice for a few hours. Supposedly the heat from the hands and the juice “cook it” but it was definitely my biggest “you are officially crazy” moment.

Living on the edge for us is considering purchasing 5-10 acres to start an orchard and cider business.

Edge me! I would like to say I live on the edge but to be honest, I play it pretty safe due to my 4 kids and the responsibility that entails… However, if I could, I would book a 2 month trip tomorrow and do some traveling! (and maybe even try some crazy food)

EDGE ME!!! Oohh…I really hope I win this–I’ve been wanting to stencil my bedroom wall for a long time, and this would give me the push to get it done!

Living on the edge here in Indiana. Let’s see…well, I don’t always put on bug repellant when I venture out in my yard at night. That might be all I’ve got.

EDGE ME!! Living life on the edge for us means a lot of scary house renovation decisions – one after the other – but before we were home owners, we did enjoy a little skydiving. :)

Hmm.. this past summer I got married/ bought a house/ started grad school/ began teaching Kindergarten… all within two months of one another. And the edgiest part of that, by far, is the Kindergarten part!

    EDGE ME!

When my husband’s Iraq deployment was extended a few years ago I ran a half marathon, jumped in the ocean in Barrow, Alaska, and went skydiving all in about a week. Now that I’m a mom, I’ve toned it down and leave the craziness my husband, who jumps out of planes and helicopters all the time.
