Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

EDGE ME! The only way I live life on the edge is by holding a job that just barely lets me pay my bills and student loans. it’s a harrowing balancing act each month!

EDGE ME! I totally don’t live on the edge. I like order and plans. But I will say the craziest think I have done recently is to jump on a plane by myself and fly from Indiana to New Zealand. Husband and kids and everything behind I went of to visit my little brother. Now that was edgy for me. Even though it was super planned.

I wouldn’t say it’s super thrilling or outrageous, but we love to rock climb! It’s so much fun and I guess to some people, it’s pretty intense but we love it. :)

Edge Me! I think stenciling is the way to go for my entryway.

I live life on the edge by staying up past midnight most nights and then going into work early, early…it’s those quiet hours that I get the most done!

Edge Me! I take risks in the way I decorate my new home. I didn’t have the freedom to do so before. Now that it’s just me, I’ve got no one to offend but myself if I get it wrong.

Edge me! Oh gosh the list could be long before I had kids I would go clif jumping, from quarries to ocean cliffs of Jamaica. Then I met my husband who I found out had a major fear of heights when we were on vacation in Ireland, I crawled out to the edge of the cliffs of moher to look down and i looked back to see him running away with my big girly handbag on his shoulder. Later found he couldn’t even watch because it made him so nervous :-)
I have since dramatically calmed my risk taking! But I have helped my husband with his fear (he made it across the antrim rope bridge…barely but he did it!)

The riskiest thing in my life is probably just by proxy: my husband is a PA-Flight Surgeon in the US Coast Guard. Helicopters in bad weather, that sort of thing. I try to hedge my bets there by making tame choices myself, lol.

Edge me! I guess the edgiest thing I do is moving to random cities where I have no connections. I lived in one place for about 10 years, realized I’d been there for 10 years, freaked out, and moved across the country. Didn’t like that place, so (after two years) moved again. Why not, right?

EDGE ME! I didn’t punch my husband in the face while driving 120 mph in our rented Mustang GT from Las Vegas to The Grand Canyon on our 10th wedding anniversary trip. All I could see were the headlines in our local newspaper “Local couple dies in fiery crash on anniversary trip…” but every time I looked over at him, he had a GIANT, teenage-boy fantasy smile on his face. Gotta love “boys” and their rented toys.

For someone who took three years to finally decide on a house to buy, five years to get engaged, and didn’t decide on the location of our wedding until about two months before the date…I’d call the baby thinking “living on the edge” for me! :)
