Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

    EDGE ME!
I drive too fast and I buy old beat-up furniture on a whim in hopes of someday finding a place for it in my house. Oh – and I occasionally play music that may not be totally appropriate for 5 and 7 year old ears in the car. That’s about as crazy as I get!

Edge Me!!! We are living on the edge this summer by taking a 2 week whirlwind trip around Europe! We want to try for a little one, and figure this is our last chance to do Europe for about 18 years;) I think it would also be a little edgy of me to stencil something in a nursery!

EDGE ME! The closest I’ve come to life on the edge is snorkeling with sting rays and sharks (and TOUCHING them) while on Honeymoon in Belize! It was amazing! Nurse Sharks are surprisingly rough, but the bellies of sting rays are perfectly smooth!

    EDGE ME!

When I was in middle school, I stole a golf cart with chevy chase’s (the movie star’s) daughter. I was on vacation with my friend, and her cousin brought along a friend too, which was his daughter! We snuck into the (unlocked) golf club storage area and took a little joy ride!

also, im the least adventurous person ever so this is still my life highlight and this was 10 years ago :)

EDGE ME! I’m a risk-averse lawyer by day, but on my off time, my husband and I like to snorkel with sharks, skydive, build crazy fast cars and, yes, even stencil our bathroom ceiling. We’re hoping to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro next year (and to stencil the wall behind our bed).

I spend 2+ hours a day on the NYC subway system, commuting to and from work. Most of time its fine, but sometimes I see something that really makes me contemplate my life’s choices that brought me to this god-awful commute.

Living in the edge … Well, we are taking a week-long camping vacation this summer. That’s on the edge for us because we have always gone with friends who could help us out if we forgot something – we are relatively new to camping. But this time it’s just us – at quite a nice campground (there will be showers!) – and I. Can’t. Wait!

EDGE ME! I am pretty tame but the idea of stenciling a wall or room is pretty edgy to me! Also, I have been trying to do more DIY around the house or thrifting and repurposing what I have to something I hope I will love.
