Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Z Me! We always have friends and family over for New Years Eve. We always make sure to have it kid friendly with lots of noise makers, confetti, hats and non-alcoholic champagne. I try to make the food and drinks as simple as possible so that I actually have time to enjoy our guests. I think we are having a Wii tournament of some sort for the kids this year.

Holiday entertaining is so much fun because people don’t give you weird looks for breaking out the special stuff. But I think the key is to mix it up with more low-key items (fun music, comfort food, etc.) so that people don’t feel like they’re in for a “breakable” evening.

Also, I LOVE mercury glass!! I got two vases for our wedding, and they are so wonderful! I’d love to really start collecting, but they are so expensive sometimes. If I don’t win, I’ll be buying these on sale in January!

The hubby and I will be with my parents this Christmas, so we will be entertainees, not entertainers. But when I’m home I love to help chip in by helping cook Christmas dinner and/or make some sweet stuff to munch on.

Z me! I would love to host for the holidays… but since all of our family lives out of town, we’re always traveling. We’re going to be hosting our very own housewarming/holiday sweater party this weekend, though, and I’m super-psyched about it… I even picked up ugly Christmas sweaters for the dogs…

Well, I hosted two thanksgivings, so I’m pretty sure I’m going somewhere for Christmas!!

I love to host and the #1 thing I always do is have seating “areas”. Groupings of chairs where people can talk outside of the normal table area.

Our first baby is due Jan 5th… So, there will be no entertaining at our house this year (usually we host a New Year’s Eve party). This year, we’ll be heading out our parent’s homes (who all live within 10 miles of us!).

Z ME!!! I love to entertain. However, with a 14 month old and baby due in April I find it a bit more challenge. These days, with being a stay-at-home mom I prefer to be entertained. It’s nice to get out of the house and have some help with the little one. Also, our house is a bit on the small side.

I’ll be doing both this year – Christmas Eve at hubby’s family’s house, Christmas day with my whole fam at our house. My #1 rule for both is always the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Be the kind of guest you would want at your house, and be the kind of host you’d love to visit with.

I am putting out vibes and doing happy dances that your random generator picks me on this one… I love, love, LOVE these! And they would look fabulous with my white, sage and silver holiday decor!

This year we’re hosting my husband’s parents and his aunt. My three big entertaining concerns are having enough food, keeping the drinks flowing, and making sure everyone’s at a comfortable temperature. That last one stems from prior visiting experience- I have one relative that never keeps things warm enough. My baby was a little baby-cicle when we visited this fall. I have another who totally roasts his guests until they need to strip or leave. Not fun!
