Fab Freebie: Ankasa For Your Casa

You guys may know of Ankasa’s collection of couture home furnishings which includes hand-embroidered pillows going for more than $300 a pop. But you may not know that one of our favorite online retailers, Ballard Designs, has debuted an exclusive line of Ankasa pillows for less than a third of the price. And thanks to the lovely folks at Ballard, one lucky reader is going to win one of these couture pillows on the house!

ballarddesignsankasacoutourecollage

Each of these three high-end pillows is hand cut and features rich, hand embroidered details that are sure to dress up any seat in your house. You’ve got two 18″ square and a 12″ x 20″ floral throw pillow to choose from. Although with such hard work put into their intricate designs I feel like we should call them “carefully place” pillows, not “throw pillows.”

To enter, just comment on this post with the words “HAND ‘EM OVER” by Wednesday, March 18th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, we’d also love to know the most intricate, delicate or complicated thing you’ve ever made with your own two hands. A masterful painting? A mutli-course meal? An extra tall Jenga tower? Oh and in case you don’t know the giveaway drill by now: please limit one entry per e-mail address (our winners are blindly selected using random.org). This prize is available to US residents only. Good luck…

Hand ’em over! Those pillows are so beautiful and would look amazing in our living room.

I’ve made some fairly basic things over the years – curtains, roman blinds etc but I think some of the loveliest creations were the Hallowe’en costumes I’ve made. One of my favourites was a tooth fairy costume I made for my daughter when she was 6 years old and was missing 7 of her front central teeth. I made over a prom dress from the thrift store and sewed her a tooth shaped bag to put her loot in.

p.s. I have a US address that the pillows can be sent to. I love them too much to let a little thing like a Canadian residence get in the way.

HAND EM OVER! Please;-) I am NOT a delicate person-I often fall at least once a day, have broken several bones and have more bruises and scratches than any normal girl should-I would say I make mean dark chocolate truffle with cherry flecks. Maybe not “delicate” to some, but it is for me!!! That being said, I love all the fine products that come from the delicate people of the world!

Those pillows are so lovely, I think you should just HAND ‘EM OVER!!

Several years back, for mother’s day, I made a large birdbath for my mom on my pottery wheel. I then kiln fired it and glazed it in a rich and vibrant green hue. The whole process was incredibly time consuming, but the product was well worth the effort!

Hmmm… most delicate thing I have ever made? Well I am actually not finished but I am making a quilt (for the first time ever!) and I think it will be beautiful. I am embroidering giant blue flowers by hand all over onto soft silvery dupioni silk. I will post photos when I am done! (Now that I think on it… it will go WONDERFULLY with those pretty pillows that I KNOW you want to give me! *wink* *wink*)
