Look what’s going on at our house today:
We’ve waited a looong time for this. Details and after pics to come next week. Until then picture us blogging to the bang, clang, staple sound over our heads.
Is it weird that it’s like music to our ears? For other sounds we’re enjoying lately, check this out.
clara is ADORABLE!!! Love that sweet little stare! :)
New roof, yaaaay! I’ve had to live through 3 new roofs (on 3 separate houses, sooo much fun to listen to,NOT!) I had to endure 1 of them with a small baby who would not sleep through loud sounds, ugh!
Clara is so expressive. Even when she’s not making much of an expression, lol!
Wow – look at her big beautiful eyes!
Good luck with all the ruckus! Any chance they threw in a skylight with the new roof?
Clara is sooooo cute!
I see that Clara’s getting lots of love, but may I just say that John, especially holding the baby, is looking mighty fine as well? It looks like working at home agrees with your whole family!
What company did you go with? I hope this company gave you a discount because they will receive a lot of leads from your blog. Mr. Sanders (floor guy) said 50% of his business comes from you website. Let us know how it turns out and if you would recommend your roofer!
Nope, we didn’t get any special treatment. We never mention our blog when we get estimates, we just call a bunch of people in the phone book and try to find the best people for the job (at the right price of course). That’s so funny that Mr. Sanders gets work through our blog! He deserves it- he was great!

OK. She is CUTE! Yay for a new roof!
New roofing is definitely something to get excited about! Hey, when are you guys gonna change you’re “We’re Digging” sidebar? It’s been the same for a while… :)
Hey Korie,
That’s on our to do list! Here’s hoping we find time soon…

Clara is SO CUTE!!!
I think I remember reading that Sherry’s dream roof was slate….:-) Hopefully you guys got something awesome!!
Ahhh! The staple sounds scares me to death! That video is adorable btw.
Oh! Clara is too cute for words. She’s a natural in front of the camera (no surprise, since she has grown up with it). Again, thank you for sharing ALL your life on your blog/flickr/twitter etc..
congrats!!!! That video was SO cute! did you notice that Clara didn’t blink one bit? My daughter used to be like that at her age and complete strangers would ask me if she ever blinks, LOL!!!
She is seriously adorable!!!
Aww SO cute! I love it….and it’s so funny that Clara doesn’t blink once during the whole video. Can’t wait for the results.
Too funny getting a new roof today too. 1 yr old didn’t seem to mind, but there were a couple of times I thought someone was coming through the ceiling. :).
It’s been six years since our new roof, but I TOTALLY remember writing THAT check! If the next video you post has nothing but the two of you consoling yourselves with a giant cheesecake or something, I would so TOTALLY understand!
Now that would be funny! Love it. It definitely wasn’t a drop in the bucket but we had been saving for a long time and we got a ton of estimates so we felt confident that we hunted down the best deal (without compromising safety or quality). Stay tuned for the details. And in the meantime we might just grab some cheesecake…

Clara has once fierce stare going in that video! So cute!
Had you given any thought to a tin roof? We just got one and it’s lovely.
I’m so glad you’ve hired someone to do your roof! My dad just tried to shingle their cottage, thinking it was small enough to get finished in a week … ummm, Dad, you shingled our house 20 years ago, you’re in your 60s now … He was very unhappy to realize that, and almost killed his back and legs just doing half of it. He’s left the other half for next summer, when he’ll hopefully hire someone to help him. He’s a perfectionist and doesn’t like trusting other people to do the job. Sigh. :)
As someone who has never really felt the urge to have children, I have to say that if I could have a guarantee that my kid would be as adorable and as sweet as Clara, I’d be getting busy, fast! You two seriously have the cutest kid I’ve ever seen.
Dear god — I hope you don’t have rain in the forecast and if you do — the roofers have a tarp. Trust me. Learned the hard way.
Oooh, are you getting a metal roof?? I can’t wait to find out!
How exciting to get a new roof but, seriously – Clara is so stinkin’ cute just blankly starring at the video camera. Hilarious!
Ha! I like how Clara just stares at the camera and never blinks. How do babies do that?
Clara is the CUTEST baby, by far, in blogerdom! (And there are lots of cute babies out there…)
WOW your little Clara is crazy cute! I could watch your video over and over just to see how cute she is again!
Adorable video! I don’t think she blinked once! LOL…
wow…reminds me of Clay Aiken and Clara is a doll.
That is the funniest thing ever. Two people have compared John to Clay Aiken. He’s never gotten that before! He does oddly get Prince William every once in a while, but I think he’s one of a kind!

Little Clara is so beautiful.
We’re getting a new roof today! Excited for the leaks to stop, NOT so excited about writing that check…or for the rain that is threatening to fall…
Clara is so adorbs. Good job on that gene-mixin!
I know, I know… everyone else has already said it, but DARN- I gotta say it too: Clara is absolutely adorable. And what a camera-hog! She’s totally ready to ‘look down into the camera and talk to the people in television land..’ lol
Now I can’t wait till she starts talking to us! She’ll be your little ‘running-commentary’ on everything, I’m sure.
Wow, the only thing better than a new roof is a new baby…and yes she is still relatively new. Clara is a doll and John aint too shabby either. No wonder you are always smiling!
