JOSS ME! Luckiest home improvement moment: my inlaws were moving out of a great house at the same time we were looking to purchase – so they sold it to us (and gave us the ‘family discount’)!

Some of my luckiest household moments are the scores I find at Goodwill! My husband is slightly annoyed by my spray painting habit by this point.

Also, we found our house after only a few weeks of looking and got the deal done in a span of about 4 hours!

JOSS ME! The first apartment I tried to lease fell through, so I ended up with my 2nd choice…I’ve been here 5 years now and love it! It ended up working out perfectly (the other one would have been too small, even though it had hard wood floors)!

I went garage saleing on Saturday and I found two wingback chairs that went perfectly with our living room for 25 apice. I got them both for 40! It was awesome. Then when my Hubby took the old couch (that was replaced by the chairs) to goodwill he found a lovely bookcase for 29 that would work in the room too. Two scores in one day and all together under 80 bucks. :)

My luckiest house moment was finding our house that had been on the market for a while and managing to sell our home before our new house was sold. (Another offer on it even fell through during this time.) I just keep saying it was meant to be ours and everyone who comes over agrees.

JOSS ME! I think our luckiest home improvement experience was not really improvement, but a repair. The bath faucet in our guest bathroom fell off the wall (yes, just fell off), and we were convinced it was going to take hundreds of dollars for a plumber to fix. But luckily our next door neighbor dabbles in minor home repair and he told us all we needed was a new faucet and some plumbers tape. A trip to Lowes and $9 later we had a shiny new & functional faucet! The homeowner Gods really showed us some mercy that night.

Joss Me! My husband just discovered a perk at his non-profit publishing employer- free canvas printing. So for the cost of 1x2s and the effort of wrapping them himself, we now have large, beautiful photos to display, including an 18″x 24″ from our wedding day!

My luckiest moment came when we were searching for a new couch set. My boyfriend and I found a set in a furniture store that we fell in love with. However, I’m stingy and didn’t want to pay full price. I scoured craigslist, and found the exact same couch set for HALF THE PRICE! It was only a year old, and the previous owner took really good care of it. Needless to say, we jumped on the opportunity! Now I have a couch that I can melt into with my puppies each day when I get home from work!
