We found our perfect house just 2 weeks after the sellers put it on the market “on a whim” and 1 week after the first buyers backed out!

I am not feeling terribly lucky today, my roof (that costs 60% more than the original estimate) just started leaking today…a week after its’ completion. Perhaps we should have DIY’ed it and saved some big bucks. Then when it leaked, at least we would have some cash in our pockets to retail therapy away the woes.

It didn’t feel very lucky at the time, but my luckiest moment was when my fridge finally died so I could buy the one that I seriously get pleasure from opening every day!

JOSS ME! I’m in love with “the Joss” but have yet to make the plunge and purchase something. I’d love to win this spree!! My luckiest home related moment would have to be the little moments over time that have helped me fall in love with my house, as I didn’t in the beginning. :)

I was fortunate enough to have a grandfather who made a house full of solid wood furniture (and a great-grandmother who came back and insisted on painting it all olive green).

    Joss me! Please!

Our luckiest home improvement story would be the time we drove the 6 hours to the closest IKEA to order our new kitchen cabinets, after debating the two best options available for MONTHS but neither being exactly perfect for what we wanted… we’d finally decided to choose one or the other knowing either one would be OK. Once we arrived in the kitchen department ready to order, we looked up on the display wall to find a just released BRAND NEW door style which was EXACTLY perfect for what we both wanted! This was 8 years ago but we still looooove our cabinets and love that lucky moment that wound up with our fantastic DIY IKEA kitchen which saved us thousands of $$$!

JOSS ME!!!! My husband and I are closing on our first home at the end of August and it’s going to need a lot of work. My husband is an electrician and one day last week the builder asked him if he wanted some leftover trim for our new house. I thought we’d get a few pieces to get us started, but lo-and-behold…we got enough to do our entire house and then some. Beautiful 6″ baseboard molding, case molding, crown molding, shoe molding, and even a hand rail for the stairs! Talk about good luck! :)

One of my favorite pieces of furniture is a gorgeous double bookcase that I scored for free from a friend of my parents who was redecorating. It completes the master bedroom and looks like it was custom made for it. :)
