JOSS ME!… My luckiest moment was probably signing a contract on our (hopefully) first home. Although we haven’t gotten word yet, we were able to sign a contract-which is a step in the right direction. After the seller had two deals fall through, she reduced the price, which meant we could go for it!

My luckiest moment happened while some random girls walked in to check out an apartment we were looking for renting at the same time. Then telling the manager in front of us that they wanted something bigger… and it ended with us finding our dream apartment. Recently, my grandfather gave me his pre-1962 Magnavox stereo cabinet. The cabinet itself is in great shape, and while the radio works it needs a little help. I also need a stylus for it. Regardless, I am so excited to use this at Christmas (after the repairs) to listen to the Christmas albums I enjoyed as a kid. *joy*

My husband & I just moved into our apartment 2 weeks ago. I had figured out where everything was going to go & how each room was going to be set up. Unfortunately, the pull out sofa wouldn’t fit down the hall & into the guest room / office. Not only did it end up working in the living room with our other couch (colors work & enough space) but now we can bring his bed over & our of our parents house. Who knew we’d be able to fit both!

My luckiest moment was years ago when I got my first apartment, and I bought an area rug on impulse. It was an expensive purchase for me at the time, but I went for it. Why lucky? Because without doing any research, I managed to buy 100% wool, I still love it, and it’s held up for all these years.

We’re total bargain shoppers, so whenever we find a great piece at a low price, we feel like that’s the luckiest find ever! My current fave is our antique buffet, which we snagged for $20 at a yard sale. It was a hideous grey color, but after hours of stripping & staining, it’s a gorgeous piece in our dining room.

My luckiest house moment has been getting almost all of my furniture for free – from either curbside garbage day finds or old people moving from their houses into nursing homes. The latter is kind of sad, but it’s good that their belongings get a new home and a new life!
