Luckiest home improvement? We bought our house in October not knowing what the yard would be like come Spring. As it turns out we have perfect shade across the backyard after 2pm, a strawberry patch, and tons of beautiful flowers everywhere!

My luckiest moment happened when I was redoing my bedroom. I had been looking for a white down comforter that was a reasonable price for months. One day I finally found one that had been marked down to $10. Awesome deal!

So far, my luckiest moment was finding an awesome deal on carpet to replace the hideous and foul-smelling ocean blue carpet in the living room of the house we just bought. Good riddance, stinky blue carpet!

JOSS ME! My luckiest home moment was actually thanks to the stomach flu! I was unable to go see this prospective house because I was sick and had to postpone checking it out for a couple of days. When I finally was able to take a look, the owners had dropped the price $20,000!!! Needless to say, I bought it.:)

We got lucky when my mom offered to help us pay for an addition to our house. Now we have a four bedroom, two bath house instead of a three bed, one bath house (and the laundry room is no longer in a closet in our bedroom). We have five kids now so we really needed that addition!

I always feel lucky when I wing a project and it totally works out! Which is 90% of the time! The “totally working out” percentage might be a little lower. :-)

Joss Me!! Luckiest score- $550 nesting tables that I’d wanted for forever were erroneously priced at $105, and the excellent store gave me the tables for the $105 price.

I’m not really that lucky, yet. I hope to be of course. I’m new to the whole DYI stuff, but I’m working on a rug right now made from scrap fabric I picked up originally for a quilt that never got finished. Think of it as a ‘mixed media shag’ rug. Hey, maybe that is luck, afterall.

JOSS ME! My recent (free) large mirror find was pretty dang lucky- just needed a coat of paint around the frame!

I got big time lucky! My house! It had come off contract with a realtor and I made my hubs knock on the door to see if it was still for sale. It was. They let us tour it the following day and the second I put my foot in the door, an electric current hit me (figuratively of course) and I knew this house was mine!! After buying it I was reminded over and over how perfect it was when my daughter’s weird corner shelf fit perfectly in a weird tiny corner in her room. Along with all their massive food storage shelving in the basement for all MY massive coupon acquired food storage! The list goes on but you get the point!

I would say my luckiest moment was finding a house in the right neighborhood for a very good price. My husband and i were tired of living in two bedroom apartments with our three little girls and don’t forget the canky old lady next door. After having enough, we decided to go househunting, unfortunately we wanted a house in a good neighborhood for a very low price since we are poor ( ahem cheap). Luckily we found a fixer upper that was a short sale and even managed to reduce the asking price by $20,000 big ones!!!
This was the best summer my girls had since they could run around in the yard and swim in the pool. I have to say, we feel blessed. So Sherry and John, definitely JOSS ME!!

My luckliest home improvement was a vintage bench from the 40’s with a torn up padded seat at a yard sale. I bargained for $10, recovered the seat with some free decorator fabric in silk and polished up the beautiful dark wood.

I have been stalking Joss for a few weeks now and L-O-V-E all the awesome stuff they have!!! My luckiest moment was more of a lucky-perfect-storm. Right at the time we were (finally) approved to buy a home, this perfect little house that we’d been stalking (to rent) for a couple of years ended up on the market. We love it and it turned out to be one of my MIL’s favorite houses in town that she’d been lusting over for many years. <3

JOSS ME! Luckiest home improvement moment would be finally finding fabric for my dining oom curtains. I couldn’t find any that I liked, and then, low and behold, I walked into a fabric store and there were three huge remnants of gorgeous floral drapery fabric on the sale table just waiting for me!

This last weekend I was at TJ Maxx Home Goods looking for a 5 or 6 foot mirror. They had their regular black and gold-framed beauties, but I was looking for something a little more…pazzazie? And then I saw it, an Indian inspired, jewel-toned red and yellow framed 5 1/2 foot mirror with imprinted metal accent pieces and jewels. It was love at first sight. Oh, I mean lurv at first sight. :)
