Fab Freebie: Tiles For Miles

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see our winners!***

Today’s moving day (wahoooooo!) so we thought we’d slap up this week’s giveaway this morning to tide you over until we have a moment to post some house-related updates. Oh yeah, and it just happens to be the biggest giveaway we’ve ever done. By a long shot.

So I’ll get to the point. It was almost exactly one year ago that I first used a wet saw. It was love at first site, er, cut. And today we’re sharing the love, thanks to some help from The Tile Shop. And boy is it a lot of love to share. $3000 worth of love to be exact.

Tile Shop Beauty Shots

You guys probably already know The Tile Shop as an awesome spot for tile, tiling supplies, and even free DIY support (both online and in stores). In fact, a lot of stuff for our bathroom remodel last year was purchased there (or borrowed from my dad, who had purchased it there). So if any of you need the kick in the pants to get your next tiling job started (kitchen backsplash? bathroom update?) here it is: TWO of you are going to win a $950 gift card to The Tile Shop and a deluxe wet saw valued at $550. Who’s suddenly got tile fever?

Tile Shop Gift Card

Here are all the deets when it comes to getting your chance at our biggest prize to date:

  • PRIZE: This wet saw and a $950 gift card from The Tile Shop (valued at 3K, baby).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “TILE ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … let’s gush about tile. What sorts of tile are you loving? Warm natural stone surrounding an open shower? Glam metallic subway tile on a kitchen backsplash? Or maybe a modern mosaic on a fireplace surround?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 15th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Before we get to the winners names, everyone should know that you automatically get $20 off any order over $200 through the holiday. Not too shabby, eh?

Our two extremely lucky winners (as selected by random.org) are… Nadia (who just starting a huge kitchen remodel) and Heidi Kruger (who’s looking to do subway tile in her kitchen and to re-tile two bathrooms) Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from The Tile Shop.

TILE ME! Tiles that look like hard wood floors. I know the cost is about the same for each, but the tile would hold up better against our 65 lb American Bulldog.

Tile me! We’re getting ready to move from our brand new house into one that is 95 years old. I think some sleek white subway tile, maybe some rustic slate or a throw-back with hexagon penny tile is just the ticket! This would certainly come in handy!

WOW is this awesome, and it might even be enough to tile BOTH my kitchen backsplash AND around the bathroom tub! That would be spectactular. Or maybe just tile the entire kitchen counter AND backsplash?? Whoof. I can’t even think about it, it’s too awesome to speculate. It would be the best Christmas present ever, though.

I think I’d love either natural stone or a translucent glass.

TILE ME!!!! We just bought a new house so this would be absolutely perfect! We are officially doing the move in this weekend (so I can relate to your pain/excitement). I’ve already been dreaming about a new tub with a gorgeous natural stone surround and some nice dark brown tiles on the floor. We do all our tile work and our wet saw was a bottom barrel purchase so the saw is making me salivate!

Tile is a window into the time of a place… we did some house-shopping ourselves. Some people reinvented bathrooms with italian themes. Others reinvented older houses and never got to the bathroom,… so the coral pink or mint green themes of CA spanish, hexagonal white floor tiles, or black and white spots/arches of art deco put a stamp on the time the house was built. Old can be so charming, even if it’s not what one might have picked new.

I would love to change the tub surround in the bathroom upstairs to glossy white subway tile that goes all the way up to the ceiling. This would complete the renovations in that bathroom since we’ve already replaced the vanity and the floor tile.

Please oh please tile me. We moved in August (after finishing removation on large parts of previous house including the kitchen with our first tile job – backsplash tile (glass mosaic). Our new house is lovely except that many remodels ago someone tiled this house within an inch of its life – floor to ceiling in the entire bath, the kitchen has a crazy 80s backsplash with what to me looks like bathroom tile, old tile surround on fireplace doesn’t fit the house at all….we have lots of work ahead of us….. I love tile, just need some newer stuff…. subway tiles glass tiles…… bring it on.

    TILE ME!!!!!!!!!

I got my first taste of tiling this past summer when I tackled the entry way and under the fireplace (I totally made boring, cheap ceramic tile look way cool by making it look like an area rug – which in hindsight was totally ambitious for my first tile job!) I’m looking forward to tiling our new bathroom in 2011 – I’m just sad my dream tiles – a combo of glass and marble – are so far out of my budget……I would love to win this prize so I could have the tile of my dreams in my dream bathroom! :)
