Fab Freebie: This Is Your Pilot Writing

***This giveaway  is now closed – see who won below! ***

Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!

This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.

Pilot Pen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Pilot.="nofollow">

I keep a notebook in my purse to make notes as I think of things during the day. And sometimes I email myself with notes during the day.

I used to be a ballpoint girl, but now I love markers, whether they’re from Pilot or Sharpie or any supplier! I started scrapping years ago and bought a huge supply of Sharpie fine points that I’m still going through. Most defintely I’m a pen and notebook person, more than a smartphone notekeeper although I do pride myself on being a technogeek – I like to doodle though, so the paper and pen works best…

Oh I wish I could get used to taking notes on my iPhone but I just can’t! I love a handwritten list too much! And I totally switch out my pens all the time. I might be on a ball point kick for a month then onto sharpie style pens :)

PILOT ME! I also prefer a nice pen, or a mechanical pencil. If it’s a regular pencil, it has to be sharpened to within an inch of its life. Dull pencils are a pet peeve…

PILOT ME! As a college student, I go through dozens of pilot G-2 pens a quarter. Despite the increasing trend of using laptops/tablets to take notes in class, I find that the good ‘ol notebook and pen provides the greatest flexibility.

PILOT ME! We have a never-ending need for great pens of all kinds at our house! I want to pass along my love of all graphic things to my talented daughter. Great writing tools make our lives so much richer. I have to spend too much time trying to get my creative 12-year-old to stop drawing pictures and making artwork so she can get her math homework done. It is so difficult to pry her away. Why oh why do they make these precious artistic brains worry over such serious math that they will never ever need?!! If you choose us, I could reward her with cool stuff from PILOT and help make some of her silly math pain disappear. Thank you!

I have started using pencils more often with a spiral notebook. When I make a mistake with a pen, it isn’t good enough to scribble it out – I have to tear the entire page out. Pencils are usually easier. That is, unless the mistake would take a lot of erasing – then I will still tear the page out and start over.

Pilot Me! I adore pens and never get tired of having a bunch of colored gel pens at hand. I’m a grown adult but I will still come into work and think, “is it a purple, teal, or red kind of day?” and pick my gel pen accordingly.

I keep a lot of notes and have many little pads in purse/bag pockets for when I think of something. However, when it comes to being able to access it, it only works if I put it in my phone. That doesn’t mean I’ll stop writing it down. That is too much fun. Plus, when I’m with my nephews, having them draw on the little pads will keep them entertained through an entire dinner out. Works like gold.
