Clearly I’m not the only one who loves a good writing utensil (and Target card) as this giveaway reached our 10,000 entry cap within just 24 hours. Nice work team! So that means we get to crown a winner early. That lucky writer is… Heather F (who “writes notes on the back of envelopes and then loses them. Argh.”) Congrats Heather!
This sounds kinda weird, but I’m very particular about my writing tools. So when the folks at Pilot noticed that we tend to write with their products, they wanted to thank us by passing some freebies along. But you know we don’t take them, so we’re paying it forward in the form of a $500 prize to one of you. Now, before you start figuring out what the heck you’re gonna do with $500 worth of pens – let me stop you. While they’ll keep your hands busy with a variety of pens and highlighters (even some erasable varieties) they’re also gonna let our lucky winner pick out $150 worth of Levenger notebooks and organizers (since we could all use a little organization this time of year). Oh, and to round out the $500 prize, how does a $200 Target gift card sound? That way you can pick up any other items you need to get 2013 off to a productive and organized start.
- PRIZE: An assortment of Pilot products plus $150 towards the Levenger notebooks of your choice and a $200 Target gift card (total value $500).
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PILOT ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … your favorite way to take notes or scribble down a message. Do you always keep a ballpoint pen in your pocket or purse? Do you swear by pencils so that you can erase your misspellings? Or are you 100% digital and prefer to rely on phone apps and voice memos to keep you organized?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 16th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States and Canada.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of

PILOT ME! I still like pen & paper if I’m home, but use my phone if i’m out & about
Nicole J says
Pilot me. Some go in the phone, some go on post-its. Often written with broken crayons or half-dead crayola markers.

Pilot me!
I love a good pen and LOVE pilot’s purple pens for grading all of the assignments my chemistry students turn in. I have my reminders in my phone when I need to be reminded of things at a certain time, but I love the satisfaction of crossing things off an old fashioned written down to do list. As a new mom I have a pen or my phone at all times because I’m so forgetful lately, i need things written down before I forget!
Tricia W says
Pilot Me! I use whatever is available, which oftentimes happens to be a crayon.
Kathy says
PILOT ME!
I still like good ‘ol pen and paper. Can I admit that some of my favorite pens are the cheap free ones.. if you find one that writes nice, it’s golden! My mom is a nurse and would get lots of free pends from drug reps. My favorite one was an anti-gas pen :)
Amanda says
PILOT ME!
I prefer good old-fashioned pen and paper.
Joni Mae says
Oh PILOT ME please! What a fun giveaway.. I’m always looking for a pen to write something down.. (maybe they run away with the ‘other sock’?) I stash several in every drawer I can find.. several in the car and there are always a few in my purse!

My kids seem to steal all writing devices so I usually have to find a broken crayon in between couch cushions.

I’m a writer who occasionally likes to leave the laptop behind, so this giveaway makes me drool. :-)
Marsha says
PILOT ME! I like to keep lists on my phone, but I’m a teacher so I LOVE anything related to school supplies!
Kathy Riojas says
Pilot Me. I’m a middle school teacher so I always have a stack on sticky notes in my purse to scribble down some notes when I need to. My personal favorite is to write notes in markers or sharpies, since I love the variety of colors. But as a math teacher, I appreciate a good sharpened pencil.
Jenb says
“PILOT ME!” I still jot down to-do lists with pen on scrap paper or small notebooks.
Suki says
Pilot me! My favorite pens are the Pilot G2. I just bought a pack of multi-colors! Anyway… when I am out and about, I use my iPhone for notes. Depending on what the note is depends on where I put it (the default reminders app or Evernote). At home, I have sticky notes or pads of paper.

PILOT ME!!
I always keep a pen and pencil in my purse – and use them according to whatever task at hand. i keep a running list of things to do on a phone app, but still geek out daily at my desk on adding and crossing things off of impromptu lists. Love your blog, by the way!!!!
Ashley L. says
Pilot me!
A good ol’ medium ball point pen and a sticky note.
Maria says
PILOT ME!
I love my iPhone but I get a little panicky without a ballpoint pen and a Moleskine notebook in my purse. My husband and I joke about being “pen enthusiasts” in an annoyingly “txt centric” (ugh, the abbreviations!) age.
Emily M says
PILOT ME! I can’t quite get myself into the digital age completely so I’ve got lists on my phone and paper lists in my purse. I guess having it written down more than once helps me remember better!
Jen says
Pilot me!
I love keeping a running list in a notebook to keep me on track!

I am huge doodler in the margins. I like a nice inky black pen to make the oh so many to do lists… now crossing those things off I need help with!
Melissa says
PILOT ME! Im a fan of pen and paper. I keep pens all over around the house (and I’m not kidding) with paper randomly stashed throughout as well. So, when I need to jot a little note down, I’m always prepared.

I always have a black ink Pilot G2 on me…best (inexpensive) pen ever!
Alli Baba says

Elizabeth says
PILOT ME!
At work I love using gel ink pens and pads of paper but when I’m making a list for myself it generally goes into a “Notes” ap on my phone – then I never worry about leaving my grocery list at home!
Susan says
PILOT ME!
All notes go on the back of used envelopes. My grandma always did it because paper was more rare during the depression, but now it just makes sense to reuse them!
SO I’m sayin’..back of the envelope with a free ‘logo’ ballpoint from some store.
Elizabeth says
PILOT ME! A Pilot G2 on a post it. : )
Sabrina says
Pilot Me!
I love a good pen with a nice bold color to make my grocery lists. It makes the shopping experience a lot more enjoyable with all that color on my list!
Kim says
PILOT ME! I am always on the lookout for ultra-fine pens for my obsessive list-making habit! And if it can be color-coded, even better!
jessica says
PILOT ME!
I like to keep a pen in my purse and just pull it out when needed. Now if I just always had something to write on….

PILOT ME!! I usually have 5 or 6 pens in my purse – of varying colors – to take notes. Therefore, I always have extras to lend, but I never seem to get them back… :)

JC says
I used to write notes/lists on paper but I always lost them. Now I send myself an email! Gmail makes it easy to search and I never lose them! I’ve tried other apps but it’s easier to use Gmail because I always have it open. Grocery lists, to-do lists, reminders…they all get emailed to me!
Carolyn says
PILOT ME!
I prefer pens and lots of fun, colourful sticky notes!
Lindsey says
PILOT ME!
I normally scribble notes down on cute stickies, but I’ve recently joined the smartphone world. I should really learn how to use the apps for keeping track of life’s important dates and lists.
Jessie says
PILOT ME!
I only use a pencil whilst doing math :) And if I’m taking notes then it is in blue ink. And…I never take notes with just one piece of paper on top of a desk, I need a “paper buffer” in between my notes and desk. According to a post on Pinterest, I’m not the only one :)
Mary S. says
PILOT ME!!
Black pens only. Blue pens give me the heebie geebies.
Katie says
Pilot Me!

Pen and paper is how I make most notes – new notes and replacement notes for the ones I always lose.

“PILOT ME!” Please…I love these pens, I have them everywhere. If I don’t have a good writing pen with a good writing pad…it makes writing a challenge!
Jill T. says
PILOT ME! I use a system of colored pens to draw my attention, post it notes, and I write on calendars a lot (like even things I need at the store).
Gretchen says
PILOT ME!
I love fine tip pens and sticky notes. If I have a really important message for my kids I use different color sharpies.
