Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME

Getting ready for spring means starting seeds indoors, finally opening the windows to let fresh air in, and purging our house of things we no longer use. Goodwill should be expecting a large donation within the next few weeks! I tend to do more furniture redos in spring and summer because I can open up the apartment. Just this weekend I repainted a dresser and a lamp! Gotta love cheap spruce ups!

Spring cleaning has included reorganzing the mud room, pantry, cleaning all the baseboards, walls, and windows. Trying to put off the closet clean out for as long as possible.

We really don’t have any specific spring cleaning rituals, but we are planning to sell the house in summer and the new vacuum will really help us keep the house in top shape!

I know its spring when I spent hours at the gardening store picking up supplies! And when I get enough sun in the house to see all the dust piling up on the baseboards. Deep cleaning is in my future!

    Dear god please clean me.
We have FIVE animals in the house with us — two cats and three dogs. It’s all I can do to keep up with the fuzz on everything. My sister-in-law has terrible allergies and I can’t invite them over for fear of giving her an attack.

Spring cleaning is underway in the form of decluttering and reorganizing at our place. I’ve also just started planting some herbs and starting some others from seed in my mini-greenhouse.

I can’t even begin to explain how appropriate this giveaway is for our current needs! Our vaccuum is on its last leg, and pet hair is my biggest enemy at this point. (In fact, I’m pretty sure that I’m going to run out and buy that broom this weekend if I don’t win!)

On another note, I’m on a big time organizing and squeaky-clean kick at the moment.

I do the window washing ordeal every spring so I can enjoy the fresh Texas breezes in the spring. Plus you have inspired me to get the clutter out and become more organzed. I’ve been tackling it an area at a time since January. That was my New Years Resolution. Find a place for everything, or donate it. It not only has uncluttered my house, but also my mind because I don’t have to look at that every day.

Clean Me!! =) I love reorganizing closets, so I’m going to try to join you in your closet fun… but first I want to paint the inside of the closet! I just bought a new house and have painted every other surface, and the inside of the closets are the browny-taupe that was a perfectly fine color until I started painting all the other hallways with a different, cleaner neutral. So now the inside of my closet bugs me and will be the next to be tackled =)

My spring cleaning ritual involves cleaning out the closet, picking out the clothes that I have not worn in a year, and donating them.
And due to the warm weather arriving early this year, I motivated myself to start redecorating my boring standard-issue cubicle at work. It looks better already!

Oh, btw, I was recently introduced to your blog, and I absolutely love it! Have been browsing it (a bit too much) ever since!

My dog has started shedding like crazy – so this weekend I will once again be making an attempt to remove all the dog hair from my apartment! (this giveaway would definitely help with that, haha) I’m also on a mission to clean/reorganize our kitchen. :)
