Fab Freebie: This Giveaway Sucks

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Literally- it does. Hear me out for a minute. A couple of weeks ago we posted about our new Bissell vacuum, which virtually swept us off our feet (and actually sucked stuff off our floors). Well, thanks to the magic of the Interweb, that post actually caught the eye of the kind folks over at Bissell and after a few emails back and forth… tah dah! We managed to sweet talk them into a YHL giveaway. So now one lucky reader gets the chance to win their very own Bissell Cleanview Helix Bagless Vacuum Cleaner to help them spruce up every nook and cranny of their casa. Nice, right?

Bissell Cleanview

We’re psyched that Bissell’s helping us share this HEPA-filterin’, 12-amp powerin’, multi-surface settin’, pet hair suckin’ and lightweight cleanin’ love with one of you. And if your house is home to a canine or a feline with a bit more fur than our bald-bellied Burger, this little bonus prize might come in handy too: they’re throwing in a Bissell’s Pet Hair Broom for our big winner as well.

Bissell Pet Broom2

Even if you don’t find yourself sweeping up much pet hair, the broom’s rubber bristles (which attract fur like a magnet) are retractable for your normal sweep jobs. So here’s how you can get your paws on this prize set which- thanks to the broom- technically doesn’t completely suck.

  • PRIZE: A Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and Pet Hair Broom
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CLEAN ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about any of your spring cleaning rituals that are already underway in your house (or any that you might be diving into soon). Getting the garden ready? Washing all the windows? Taking us up on our closet cleaning party? Spill it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Home to the world’s best and second-best hockey teams (that’s Canada and the US, fyi)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CLEAN ME!

I’m moving right now, which has given me the opportunity to go through everything I own. I’ve gotten rid of a ton of stuff I didn’t even know I had.

    CLEAN ME!!!

Our spring cleaning (and fall cleaning actually) rituals include going through our closet and taking out items we haven’t worn in a year and donating them. We did it this past weekend and our closet looks a lot less jammed!

CLEAN ME PLEASE!! Spring cleaning actually hits me a couple of times a year, and it hit me up a few weeks ago, so it was mid-winter cleaning! Every now and then I get the urge to purge.

CLEAN ME! I’ve already started socking it to my garage and attic. HUGE garage sale in my near future. Unlike you, all my baby stuff is soon to be on its way out. Kinda sad, but there comes a time. Oh, and my garden is already planted. Yay for spring!

My fave Spring-cleaning ritual is to open all the windows in the house. Nothing feels better than a soft, clean breeze after being shut-in for the winter!

Clean me… I really don’t have any rituals. However, my better half says I am a cleaning addict and have “issues”. Which I really don’t he just doesn’t like to clean. I usually vacuum the floors and mop once a week. I have two dogs and my house is entirely tile and hardwood.

Lately I’ve discovered microfiber clothes and use them to clean everything. I have one for dusting and one for cleaning the bathrooms!

    CLEAN ME!

I’m a nursing student, so I’ve started a paper purge for spring/end of the quarter. It’s so satisfying clearing out space in the filing cabinet and my binders! And everything is recycled, or shredded and then recycled. But emptying the shredder does leave a lot of dust and itty bitty paper pieces to clean up…a new vacuum would sure help a lot…

Oh my goodness, I completely love spring cleaning season! Throwing open the windows to air out the stail winter air, turning on some tunes and spending a weekend scrubbing every nook and house cranny, gets me so super giddy with excitement! And I can finally find my way back out to the garage {because it’s not below zero freezing out there} to do my annual garage cleanup!

    As always, much thanks YHL!

What perfect timing! Our vacuum is pretty close to death at the current moment.
My spring cleaning ritual starts the same way every year…rearranging the furniture in the bedrooms. We did our room yesterday, this coming weekend is our daughter’s, and then on to the guest (soon-to-be nursery)!

    CLEAN ME!

This weekend, I did a full oven/stove clean up. I set the dial to self-clean which effectively locks down the oven for 4 hours, stinks up the house, and incinerates any debris. I washed all of the burner grates on the gas stove. And then I scrubbed the grime from the hood. Feels good to have a clean stove!

CLEAN ME! I am desperate for the vacuum and the broom. Our pup is bare bellied but still sheds his little chocolate colored hairs all over the place. (My husband and I are also btoh well endowed with hair…so you can imagine the situation!)

Spring cleaning isn’t really needed around here, since we live in a smaller place and have to keep our stuff organized and clean most of the time. So it’s more of a year round deal. You mentioned cleaning windows though…which reminds me that I have a few of those around here.

I am a window washing fein in the spring. Nothing stops me from getting out there and letting in more light by cleaning the winter grime off the windows. And I tend to organize and purge like crazy during the spring, and this one is no different. Feels like a fresh start!
