Since the early days of YHL, we’ve been buddies with the foursome over at One Project Closer. Ethan, Fred, and their wives Jocie and Kim dish up tutorials, tool reviews and decor posts to help us all get (say it with me) one project closer to our dream house. Recently they’ve launched a series of “Pro-Follows” where the boys tag along with professional contractors to document big projects like building a deck (which we may be referencing soon ourselves). But if that makes you break into a sweat, perhaps their new The Better Half section (where the ladies tackle design and craft projects) is more your speed. I need to repaint and rescreen my back porch. The previous owners had large dogs that they kept back there, so the porch is “screened” with chicken wire. -_- Not so helpful against mosquitoes.

Over spring break I tackled a major face lift on our house, a bedroom and a couple of other projects inspired by your blog. My next project is the kitchen. You’ve motivated me to repaint our current cabinets and even build a small extension bar and knock out a wall to open up the kitchen to our living room. GET ME CLOSER to a working laundry room! We’ve been living in our house without laundry for a year and a half! Luckily, we’ve spent the last few months really pushing on the laundry room area, so it really is just around the corner from being a reality. My husband finished spackling the drywall yesterday, so we can paint this week, put in our new cork flooring on the appliance platform, (stain and) install baseboards and then we can put in our appliances!
