I guess the most pressing is to find a great area rug for my living room before winter. No one likes cold toes! Our house is older and only has ONE closet and we have a teenage daughter…it is worse than you can imagine! We would love to build closets in our master similar to the ones you built in your last house.

My husband and I just bought our first home (we close Oct 3rd!) and we're going to be so busy tackling so many projects….we're ripping out the carpet for the hardwood floors underneath, painting EVERYTHING! including trim, ceilings, cabinets, etc…we'll be replacing the toilets, replaing the linoleum floors with tile, and installing new hardware in the kitchen and bathrooms…we'll be busy! And I'm sure this list will turn into next Spring & Summer projects too!

This fall/winter we hope to install an office ceiling fan, a fan in the bathroom, and new track lighting in the living room. All projects require going into the attic so we’d rather do that in the cooler weather. Then hopefully we’ll add some more insulation to the attic so we can save money on our electric bill : )

A fireplace facelift is (one) of the home improvement projects on our agenda. I’ve already started painting, but I would love to cover the tile surround with stacked stone and build some custom bookcases on either side, this might help it move in the ‘let’s actually complete a project’ direction. We came home from a weekend away yesterday to find the fixture above the masterbath mirror had committed suicide! It was literally haging by one electrical wire against the mirror when we got home. Luckily the glass was all still in tact. It would be nice for us to be able to spend some TLC on our master bath!

Oh our list of projects may be too long to fit in the comment box!! We’re expecting our first baby in December and have created quite the list of “to do’s” before her arrival. Some include: new floors for the WHOLE house that we plan to install oursleves (oh my), new fireplace mantle/surround/hearth, finishing some drywall on the fireplace wall and painting the whole family room, hall and nursery… maybe the office and master too if there is time (don’t want them to feel left out), and we want to install some faux paneling in the nursery. That’s just to the house… don’t get me started on my list of Pinterest inspired craft projects and quilts!! :)
