Fab Freebie: Sew Simple

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!

I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?

Singer One Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of SINGER.

    Sew Me!
Lol at passionate muttering. I speak load forceful words at that machine while knowing it isn’t the machine’s fault, it’s the user. I am a definite 1. Someday I hope to graduate to Sherry level.

SEW ME! Ahhh, my sewing machine crapped out on me and I have not been able to figure out what is wrong with it. It’s not worth having it repaired (it’s not a really nice one or anything), so I would LOVE to win this. Impeccable timing.

I would say I’m middle of the road. I took two sewing classes in HS (best teacher ever) and am decent, but I definitely can’t do anything too fancy. I have been wanting to make a few things for my baby’s nursery but alas. Here’s to hoping! :)

SEW ME!!! I’m about a 3, just like Sherry. BTW, this sewing machine is amazing because it has room on the left side of the foot. I’ve never seen anything like it, but it was CLEARLY designed with left-handers like me in mind :)

SEW ME! I am definitely low on the scale of sewing savvy – maybe a “3”. I am already dreaming up the projects I could put together if I won this fabulous give away. There are visions of all my grade 9 home-ec sewing skills coming back to me.

I am definitely a 1. I usually have my mom or mother in law sew for me, but I have made a few doll blankets with some help.

I would say I’m about a 5! I loved sewing growing up but haven’t done it in years because I don’t have a machine and just do everything free hand, which takes forever.

    SEW ME!!

I would absolutely love a new sewing machine. I love to sew clothes, curtains, pillows, everything. Unfortunately, my machine broke this summer and we don’t have the funds to get it fixed. My husband and I aren’t giving Christmas gifts to each other this year because of the financial crunch we are in– this would be so great to get just in time for Christmas!!

I’d saw I’m a 3 or 4 on the sewing skill range. I know enough to do simple things like hem drapes, make pillow covers, etc., but beyond that I need to search the online discussion boards for pointers!

SEW ME! This would make the perfect Xmas gift for my boyfriend. My mother decided that since I was not interested in learning to sew, she would teach him. With three daughters and no sons, we now call him the “daughter-in-law she never had.” He is thrilled with this moniker (sarcasm font). But he is a manly man who still wants a sewing machine!

I love sewing by hand, but have gotten to the point in my projects where a machine would help tremendously! I’ve never had one before (outside of home ec in 7th grade… embarrassing!) so I’m probably a zero with the machine. But this one sounds amazing for a first-timer!
