Fab Freebie: Sew Simple

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

After clocking 10,000 entries under 24 hours, we’re already back to crown a random winner of the SINGER One sewing machine. The lucky person is… Angela (who says she’s a 1 on the sewing skills scale: “I can sew a straight line, but only if someone threads the machine for me first”). Congrats!

I’ve never touched a sewing machine in my life, but I’ve heard Sherry’s passionate muttering from the next room while using hers. Which is why anything labeled “Our easiest to use machine!” sounds compelling. And we’re so (sew?) excited that Singer is helping us give away a SINGER One – a feature-packed sewing machine that retails for nearly $500 – to one lucky reader! Something about an Automatic Needle Threader and OneTouch stitch selection sounds “approachable.” Plus the 24-available stitch patterns makes me believe you could fake your way into some pretty fancy stuff. Oh, and did we mention that Singer will ship this puppy anywhere in the world?

Singer One Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A SINGER One sewing machine (a $499 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SEW ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …where do you rank yourself on the sewing skills continuum? Are you a 1 like me (I couldn’t sew my way out of a bag)? A self-proclaimed 3 like Sherry (who could probably make “a wonky bag”)? Or are you more like a 10 (who could not only sew a bag from scratch, but do so blindfolded)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: This giveaway is available worldwide (we always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US – more on that here).
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of SINGER.

Hello guys~ I love browsing through your site everyday!! Although I have admitted I would probably sew my finger onto the fabrics of whatever I’m trying to sew. I believe I know someone who would love this machine.. my MOTHER~ :D

I think I’m a solid 2. I can sew a straight line, but that’s about it. I have an old machine my mother-in-law gave me that I play with, but honestly, it’s a tough go. I could use “approachable” :-)

I rate myself: double zero (we can’t go negative, right?). I try to fake my way around anything that may involve sewing (Heat ‘n Bond anyone?). It’s about time I face this puppy head on and learn to sew on this fantabulous sewing machine!

    SEW ME!
I am an aspirational sew-er, a girl with crafty inclinations that often fail to materialize. I sew with my hand, because it seems easier than the machine, yet finishing a project seems an untenable task! With the Singer Machine I could sew my little heart out, as I prepare for my upcoming wedding! I would use this machine to make lots of gifts, while also whipping up some lovely things for my sweet little bungalow in Durham NC. I study hard as a grad student and could really use a handy task to unwind! I hope I win – Happy Holidays!

On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d consider myself a two. As long as someone threads the machine and stands beside me to correct any mishaps, I can rock a straight line. But don’t ask me to do much more than that!

    Sew me a new wardrobe!
I desperately need new clothes after having had a baby. Not that I have changed shape, but those old clothes are just not practical for my new Mom job.
I already have a sewing machine from the 70s, but could really use all those new gadgets.
I think I am like a 6 or 7 in sewing skills. But it is not that easy to sew with a little one nearby. I am currently making this top (http://megannielsen.com/collections/sewing-patterns/products/banksia-top-sewing-pattern) in a fun polkadot, as well as this bag (http://www.frolic-blog.com/frolic/2012/09/frolic-hetterson-make-a-scalloped-bag.html) for my Mom for Christmas.
I love reading your blog, it is so inspiring to see all that you manage to accomplish. Sometimes, you even motivate me to actually do something for our appartment ;-)
