Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    EMMY ME!

I try to send cards out each year, with a picture of either just my two kids and the dog, or all of us (not my favorite!). I miss a year here or there, which works out because if you never miss a year, your friends FREAK out when you miss one, thinking you have experienced some huge disaster (trust me on this!)

We are waiting one more year to send out Christmas cards. We have a huge family, so we figure we’ll wait until we’re officially married to send out dozens of cards. But I will probably send one to whoever sends us one this year!

I do a little bit of both for my Christmas cards. Sometimes my family does posed pictures and sometimes we do goofy ones. It depends on what mood the kids are in that year. :)

I love the New Year card idea posted in an earlier comment- my pre-holiday season barely includes time to shop for gifts so something more thoughtful after the madness dies down will be great!

I sometimes send out homemade cards and sometimes use store bought. It varies. I only send to my out of town friends and family.

I like to send photo Christmas cards, but it seems my husband and I just don’t pose for a lot of photos together. This year we had 2 to choose from FROM THE WHOLE YEAR! Geesh. So I took the better of the two, which was at the Jimmy Buffett concert decked out in beads and leis. I found a “Mele Kalikimaka” christmas card theme. It was perfect!

I love receiving cards, especially those with a picture, so I make it a priority to send one every year. Yes, we do the family photo and because we’re a military family, with friends all over the country, we include a christmas letter – but we really do our best to keep it “REAL” and try to avoid the “our life is perfect” sounding card.

Last year I sent cookies with greetings stamped on it. This year I made a mosaic – the words “merry x-mas” made of many pictures from my friends and me. I printed it and now I`m going to write a personal message next to it. For not so close people I bought funny cards.

Since our family can not, I repeat, CAN NOT ever look all good in one picture all together, I create fun collages of the year in pictures to create our own custom Christmas cards. Everyone gets on the card showing their best side at least once or twice.
