Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

EMMY ME! I like to make my own cards with a handwritten note in each, if I possible. When our kids were young we always sent a photo of them each year, usually something candid and not too posed.

Christmas cards have way too much pressure associated with them. I usually try to send cards throughout the year when they are less expected and more appreciated.

I like to make cards. Generally I sketch up a cute design and add fabric and ribbons, and all sorts of little goodies, along with a heartfelt holiday poem. They’re silly and probably doesn’t look as nice as the handmade stuff you can buy off Etsy or even cute Target Christmas cards, but I have a blast doing it!

We usually send out some kind of card with a picture of the kids (2 years ago it was a combo holiday card/birth announcement for our December baby). This year I’m waaaay behind and haven’t settled on a card idea, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this freebie!

I love sending out Christmas cards, and this is my first year to do it as a married couple instead of with my parents and sisters. We made little postcards on pretty paper that just say NOEL in embossed letters, but now I have to sit down and write them. Just sending it out to close friends and family means that there are about 70 to send out – and finding the time to hand-write (and in my family, they must be handwritten – there was actually some drama one year when one aunt dared to not handwrite hers) 70 cards during the midst of my law school exams is kind of tough. But it’ll be worth it!!!

I’m excited that this giveaway is a Minnesota company! They have a gorgeous website also.

Being a Gemini, I always do the Christmas letter (Gemini’s love to communicate) along with a photo of myself with my teenage boys. People love to see that my 16 year old is 6’2″. I would like to include my 20 pound cat and our two girl kittens, but can you imagine the chaos of getting everyone in the frame?!!?

    Wish me mucho luck!

I don’t always send out Christmas cards, but this year, since I don’t yet have any cute kids to send pictures of, I’ve decided to handmake collage-type cards for the 20 or so really special friends and family in my life.

Every year for Christmas I make my own scrapbook style greeting cards. All of my family and friends get cards that are a little different that are personal and special to the relationship I have with them. This year my boyfriend and I just bought our first house :) and with all of my scrapbook things in boxes, personalized cards are not a possibility.

We haven’t sent a card in the 2 years (and 3 Christmas-es) we’ve been married. I wish I did but I can never seem to cut the list short enough to be able to afford to send it to everyone without leaving someone out! Next year for our baby’s first Christmas I will have to get over it and send a photo card or my family will kill us.

We’ve done something different every year for the past 16 years. I really don’t like sending Xmas cards, it seems so contrived. Anyway, my favorite one we sent was a photocopy of a drawing by my daughter with photos of our family’s heads on the bodies of the wisemen/shepherds/angels. Funny.

Since we sent out “new home” announcements not that long ago we may skip the holiday cards… unless we get a great picture of our dog, then maybe she will be our card this year!
