Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    EMMY ME!!

We always send cards with a picture of the family. This year we did make a goofy one for our daughter to send to her friends as well! It was fun and she got to pick the pose.

This year we are sending photo cards with our wedding picture in them. We are newlyweds, so nothing much family wise has changed with us! Maybe next year there will be a puppy to add to the picture! :)

    EMMY ME

My parents always did the cheesy “year-in-review” newsletter. I’m sure everyone just LOVED hearing about our summer vacations and life-stages we were going through (i.e. preschool graduation, first sleepovers away from home, first dates, prom, college grad, etc). The best part is now that I’m a graphic designer I get wrangled into putting it all together to make it look nice. And, even though I’m married and live 4,000 miles away, I still have my own section to talk about what I did this past year so people I don’t know can read about it.

We usually pose for one family Christmas photo. It turns into a big affair of getting everyone to not blink and smile. We found giving our daughter candy to hold helps keep her in place too. :-)

EMMY ME! We usually send a photo card of our kids. I have to stop doing that, as I hate being the recipient of cards without pics of Mom & Dad included, too. Unless Mommy has lost all the baby weight plus some, and then I don’t want to see how skinny you are. XO!

We usually send Season Greetings by snapping a cute pic of the kids and writing a small note. We have b/g twins and so the pictures usually get Rave reviews. People are suckers for twins ;) So are we!

We are typically pose in front house the house folks. We have been married for four years and unplanned we have lived in three different houses and this one is for sale. So we typically have a new background each year, but hope to one day have a view of the same house behind us as it grows up with of family. Just hasn’t worked out that way thus far!

Love, love this company. I’m actually following Bethany’s new blog b*spoke regularly – she’s quite the writer. This would be an amazing gift (to me!) Fingers crossed!
As for my holiday cards – my hubby and I mail-out x-mas cards to our friends and family every year. Last year I made them, this year, for lack of time, we’ve purchased our cards from Wal-mart (we did spend some time trying to find the perfect ones – they are totally retro with 4 snowmen on the front made from funky retro patterns!). Once we expand and our family we will do the photo cards because they are just too fun and a great way to keep friends and family up to-date on how the (future) kiddies are lookin’.

I do like to send a traditional Christmas card with a letter in it to friends each year. It keeps me in touch with friends/familly that are far away that I don’t call, but don’t want to loose touch with entirely. I love getting Christmas cards myself too!

EMMY ME! My family has always sent out a Christmas letter, personally written by my parents with input from my siblings and me, as a way to tell our family, friends and loved ones what we’ve been up to over the year. It’s always fun to look back on what’s been happening in our lives individually. Now that I don’t live at home, I plan to continue the tradition on my own.

In any event, I love sending various forms of correspondence throughout the year for holidays, thank yous, or any old excuse I can find!

I like to hand write letters, but I rarely do cards…although when I do I send the card witha note written on a piece of paper tucked inside. Then, the card is re-usable and ready to spread more cheer :-)

The last couple of years I didn’t send cards – ummm, maybe because I was lazy. However, I did get holiday pictures done both of those years. So this year I am sending out Christmas picture cards from the last 2 years. Niiiice. Hey, it’s the thought that counts right. I am writing a personal message in each.

I always have tree somewhere on the card. It really helps to cut down on the planning – just look for an idea that includes a tree and that’s the card.

EMMY ME! (I’ve been addicted to Emmy Lu’s B*Spoke blog since you featured them last week. So great.)

I usually find the nicest cards I can, in the after Christmas sales. Then it’s a nice surprise to see what I picked out a year previous when it’s time to send out our Christmas greetings. We don’t send a picture, but use Christmas cards to keep in touch with friends, most of them on the opposite coast.
