Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Emmy me…My husband and I got married this year so we’re are using one of our wedding pictures of us (that I got 25 of 30 printed for free on shutterfly from a special promotion) and making a DIY Christmas card on cardstock with festive colors. Also, my husband is from Germany so we’re including Merry Christmas and Frohe Weihnachten on it.

EMMY ME! We have one son so it is usually a family picture of the three of us. Last year he was reading “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to two sleeping parents (and a cocker spaniel).

We always do a photo with a card, but this year I did a collage of 3 photos I took earlier this year. So much easier than getting the kids together for another family photo.

Kia ora! We always buy our Christmas cards from “Canteen” (charity for teens coping with cancer). Our tradition is posting the cards two weeks after the final posting date for Europe (we live in New Zealand) and crossing our fingers that they arrive in good time. Oh, the tension – nail-biting stuff, I tell ya!

I love this! Before I got married I went to all the after-Christmas sales and gathered boxes of the tackiest, ugliest cards I could find (Santa in a candy cane speedo…) and sent those. The atrocious card was always from me! Now that I’m married, my hubby is big on picture cards. He always picks a picture that is not my favorite or I have a “better” idea of what I want to do. But I defer to his choice since this is something he likes to do – and we’ve gotten the best compliments and everyone LOVING our cards cuz of his picture choice. Sheesh. :o)

    EMMY ME!!!!

My sister and I take great pictures seperately but AWFUL pictures together, which frustrates us, and especially our mom, to no end. As a result, I end up cringing when I see the “best” photo that my mom chooses to send out to all friends and family. So, I tend to shy away from picture Christmas cards so I don’t suffer from Horrible Christmas Card Photo Tramatic Disorder(and since I’m not married and don’t have any kids (besides my mischevious chihuahua Lola) at the ripe age of 24, it suits me just fine. I normally find some neat, thrifty website to buy cards from like Linda and Harriet, or any other Daily Candy find that pleases my fancy. For now :-)

I used to make homemade cards when I had the time. Then the dog came along, and we dressed her in ridiculous antlers for a photo card. Now that we’ve got a baby, we went for photo cards with a few of our favorite family photos. The dog is very relieved.

We love our pets and think the card is adorable but I’m know some of my non-pet-loving friends will think its lame :-)

EMMY ME! I send the traditional photo greeting card. Rather than pose for a family picture, we create a photo collage of all the places we’ve traveled that year or notable experiences we had. The Christmas’ for which my husband has been deployed to Iraq, I did a photo card split in two and we sent Christmas greetings from our home and from Iraq! Next Christmas we’ll be a new family of three so there will be lots of beuatiful photos to choose form for sure!
