Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

My first year married (same first year as you guys! ’07) I sent out our first Christmas picture card. But last year I just sent out regular Christmas cards. Really hoping that I can send out Emmy Lu’s beautiful cards this Christmas!

We send out a Christmas photo. Now that our daughter is a toddler it is a little harder to get the perfect family shot. I decided to do a collage of 4 photos, 3 that are cadid shots and one staged famiy photo. I can’t wait to send them out! :)

My husband and I follow my parents’ tradition of sending out newletters, born out of the frequent moves with the military and growing family. Of course our furry, four-legged baby, Seneca, gets a big part of the newsletter this year!

I like to snap family photos all the time and have one “magically” appear for the card. Because of my job, though, Christmas time is CRAZY busy, so I try and send out New Years cards/Epiphany cards/Valentine’s Day Cards if I’m REALLY behind.

We usually do a letter and photo, but not quite sure yet what’s in store for this year! Two years ago, my hub wrote a fantastically funny letter. Would love to see a repeat performance of that!

    Love sending handwritten Christmas cards.

So far I have generally stuck to the standard store bought designs but maybe next year we will use a photo of our new Craftsman inspired style home – when the landscaping is finally done “fingers crossed”!

EMMY ME! Gorgeous cards! I don’t have a tradition for sending out cards – I’ve run the gamut from DIY creations, to color copies of a Christmas painting I did, to stamping, even resending some of the best cards I’ve received over the years.

Emmy Me! I wish I could say that we have a fabulous holiday card tradition, but no such luck. Instead I’ll tell about friends who once sent out cards with a picture of themselves posing in super tacky Christmas sweaters with a plastic Christmas goose. It was straight out of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and I’ve been dreaming of copying their idea every year since!

I abstain from the madness! But, I’m not necessarily proud of it. Usually, I think about the daunting dask of gathering the addresses, writing in the cards, addressing them, etc, etc and then next thing I know, it’s like a day before x-mas and I haven’t done them. I wish I were more motivated to do them because I sure like receiving them!

I like to do DIY cards and this year was no different. I actually found my inspiration from a Paper Source magazine and changed the color scheme a bit, used the good ‘ole computer to print the design and ta-da, a nice DIY Holiday card! I love note cards, paper etc so this would be great to win!

emmy me! I make a collage of best snapshots of kids throughout the year. then i send to walmart for 1 hour delivery, then i glue them to cheap photo card i buy at xmas tree shops the year before. Putting them in the actual photo holder covers too much of collage edges. So use a glue stick. This year though, want to abstain!

I absolutely LOVE Emmy Lu’s designs and was looking through them for our birth announcements (baby #1 will be here in February!!)…For the holidays, my hubby and I usually send out a holiday-themed card featuring a snapshot of our naughty yellow lab doing something interesting (last year he was ripping apart a fresh roll of toilet paper)…he keeps our lives interesting, to say the least! Baxter and Burger should meet up – though Burger’s manners would likely put Baxter’s to shame:)

We are sending out traditional Christmas cards this year. It’s always a little surprise to us as to which cards we will be sending because we buy a bunch during the day after Christmas sales and always forget what we’ve purchased the year before.

EMMY ME, please! We usually send out Christmas/Hanukah cards, but not sure if we will this year… my husband got laid off recently but doesn’t want to publicize it, and we’ve got an exciting addition who will debut at the end of June, assuming we get the green light at the next round of doctor’s appointments, but we’re not quite ready to publicize that, either… I have a friend who just got engaged, so I’d even be happy to gift her one of these months for her shower invites!

Last year was the first in quite a few that I actually sent out holiday cards. I purchased some adorable telegram-themed letterpress cards from Etsy and sent them to loved ones and colleagues. This year I need to combine my holiday wishes with an announcement about my new home. I’m still trying to find the perfect card. Off to check out Emmy Lu’s site now.

This is our daughter’s second Christmas, and our second year to send out Christmas cards. Last year, Avery was only 2 months old and yawned about anything to do with Christmas (seeing Santa Clause, looking at lights, presents, etc.). The picture that we took had us in front of tree, kissing her cheeks, while she yawned. This year, she can’t sit still, and we still haven’t figured out what picture to put on a card!
