Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We usually just buy our cards. But, we tend to gravitate towards anything that include a doggie. We love our pups!

EMMY ME please!! Of all the freebies/giveaways that YHL posts, this is one of my faves! I am sort of known for my written communications- such as holiday greetings, congratulations and all of the in-betweens. As my mother-in-law once said, I have “resurrected the art of thank you note”. I LOVE sending cards and messages of the written variety to people I love, or even just like. So I guess I am a traditionalist when it comes to holiday greetings- sign me up for good ol’ fashioned cards versus email any day!

It’s our first Christmas as a married couple – so no big traditions yet, just some simple holiday cards – hopefully with the arrival of children {or a puppy!} we can partake in some super cute photo cards!

I send traditional cards from Target or wherever with a loose photo of my family (currently only me and the hubby!) enclosed. It’s cheaper than photo cards and grandparents and such can keep the picture without having to cut it from the card. That’s what my mom did and I love keeping her tradition.

Since it’s just the two of us, we sent out a letter on fancy holiday paper this year – no photo. I do believe in snail mail for festive occasions like party invitations and moving announcements. And I love to send little notes to my friends in other states.

We stock up on a variety of cards to send out. That always helps make a boring task a bit easier. Cheesy Christmas music and a hot toddy also help. :)

    Please Emmy Me!

I am a die hard when it comes to sending out holiday greetings (something I take after my mom) and do so every year. Last year my hubby and I had just moved to a new home in a new city and sent out holiday postcards with our photo on the front à la ”American Gothic” style. We got rave feedback! This year I have returned to an old tradition of supporting UNICEF and have sent out about three dozen.

Thanks for your great site and thanks for this lovely initiative of supporting the designer Emmy. Happy Holidays!!!

Stationary is one of my most favorite things, EVER! This year will (hopefully) be the first of many Christmas cards since this is our first Christmas together as husband and wife. I used wedding photos and had cards printed on shutterfly.com. I also snagged a cool return address stamp from expressionary.com and will decorate the envelopes with winter themed stamps. I’m crossing my virtual fingers to win this awesome prize!!!

At the end of each holiday season, I buy a few packs of cards on deep discount. When I pull them out the next December, I’m always surprised with what I bought. :) Cards normally go out to folks we don’t get to see at the holidays. We don’t go so far as to write a Christmas letter, but we do pen a little update about what’s going on.
