Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    EMMY ME!
I’ve started making my cards, which I think definitely gives the cards a more personal touch, but traditional, non-photoshop for me!

    EMMY ME!

We have done traditional cards in the past but I’d like to attempt a photo card this year. (It may end up being a New Years card at this point!) I love when I get photo cards from friends and family since we live out of state from most of them!

    EMMY ME!! (Please?!)

We normally do store-bought Christmas cards. But, we’ll be greeting thousands of locals in our first TV Christmas card this year! My fiance works for a news station that has its employees (and their loved ones) create a short video greeting, either with a cheesy wave or something more creative, which airs throughout the holiday season. We’re just finalizing the plan for our “skit”. ;-)

    Emmy me!!

After our wedding Bryan and I had a ton of left over thank you cards. The cards were printed with a picture of us holding a sign that said thank you. I bought felt and made little santa hats for both of us and used construction paper to hide the “Thank you”, instead making it look like we were holding a present.

It was tons of fun and we got tons of comments. Great use for our leftovers!

Holy cow, this is like a dream giveaway! Anyway… we’ve done both posed pictures and candid snapshots for the Christmas cards. It’s fun being creative and our families love getting a photo instead of just a paper card.

    EMMY ME!

Being a single woman of 26, I seriously pose for a picture with my 2 kitties that I take w/ a tri-pod camera. Man, does that sound sad or what!? I then write type up a life update of what I’ve been up to the past year, my job, big events, etc. and send it to my close family/friends. I think it’s fun to read what’s new in people’s lives at least 1x each year. :)

These designs are so cute. We haven’t sent out Christmas cards every year, but we’ve sent out photo cards when we’ve had a big event (like the year of wedding; Christmas was right around the time the professional pics arrived, so our Christmas card was a preview for a lot of people). We’ve also sent out cards showcasing our dog wearing antlers. She’s not a fan of those. Once we have kids, I imagine photo cards will become a yearly tradition.

EMMY ME! We usually pic one of our favorite pictures of us from the year and send photo card (usually on the modern side) out to all our friends and family. However, this year we are in the process of selling our house, applying to grad school and lots of other crazy things, so we won’t be sending anything out this year. We plan to send a “We’ve moved” card out to everyone once we sell and move in to a new place.

My husband is a big fan of WWE wrestling and has the Super Fly Snuka action figure…every year we take a picture of us with Super Fly Snuka hidden somewhere in the picture….picture is always taken in a different location. And before you even ask…yes we take Super Fly with us on every trip! So we have a bunch of pictures to choose from at this time of year! This year, we are using a picture from our honeymoon last year…super fly is hidden in the sand – only his head showing!

I usually send out a Christmas card and a year-in-review letter written by our 5 year old Beagle Baxter (also know as Mr.B). People get a kick out of hearing about our year from his point of view! I was hoping to do a little photoshopping with Baxter for some Christmas tags like you did, but I’m not very good at it and don’t really have much time left to get it done! Any tips on Photshopping for dummies??
