Fab Freebie: Seasons’ Greetings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Yes, I know it looks like I have a misplaced apostrophe up there, but trust me on this one. This week’s prize will have one of you sending handwritten greetings across all seasons of the year (see, I’m looking less punctuationally deviant already).

Shout Out Emmy Lu

As you may recall from Friday’s thank-you-to-our-sponsors post, Emmy Lu Design Studio is an awesome source for beautiful custom stationery with a DIY twist. Once you pick the style and fill in the custom details (whether it be a holiday card, personal stationery, an invitation or even a baby announcement) Emmy Lu hooks you up with a ready-to-print PDF. That means you can print as many as you want (whether you need five or five million), on any paper you want (bargain or mega-fancy-pants), for as long as you want (the file’s yours for eternity). Kinda genius, no?

Emmylu Giveaway

And since it’s nearly impossible to pick your favorite design, this week’s winner is getting a year’s worth of them! That means a new card/invite/announcement of the winner’s choosing for every month of the year (which loosely translates to 12 excuses to throw a party, pen a thank you note or even write your mom a letter for crying out loud).

So here’s how you can get your hands on these greetings by the dozen:

  • PRIZE: One custom Emmy Lu design per month (of $50 or less) for an entire year (that’s up to a $600 value!)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EMMY ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what you do to send seasonal greetings. Do you pose for a traditional family Christmas card? Or something quirkier (like photoshopping your chihuahua)? Maybe you abstain from the madness completely?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    Emmy Me!

My christmas card experience is usually limited to cringing in wait of what my father has written and sent out to everyone. Someday i’ll do my own, and it will be on paper that i make myself… possibly recycled from christmas cards i received the previous year.

    EMMY ME!

I buy the Target cards that have a spot to slide in a photo, take a picture of something important that happened in the last year. The year we got engaged, I put a picture of me flashing my ring. The year we got married, we included a wedding photo. The year we bought our house, we posed outside of it, Vanna White style. Last year, we skipped our Christmas cards and sent birth announcements (our son’s birthday is 19 December, so I wasn’t feeling the need to make two sets of cards). This year, we stood him up in front of the tree and snapped an adorable picture of him laughing and clapping.

My family lives out of state, and I would love love love to be able to send out monthly updates of the first and favorite grandbaby. I usually just text them out, but how cool would it be to send it out as a shiny card?

This is such an amazing giveaway! I’m throwing my mom a surprise 60th birthday party and I’d LOVE to use this for invitations! In fact, when you made the post about your sponsors the other day I checked out this site for invites and I’ve already picked something out. Fingers crossed!

What a fabulous giveaway! I’d be so excited for such a great gift! We’ve been creating photo cards for a few years now – our first was 4 years ago and we posed with our brand new Boston Terrier puppy. The past 2 years have been “make way for baby” and our daughter now fills a card all herself..no one wants to see us anyway!

I’m a total sucker for photo holiday cards. Last year, our first as a married couple, I just used a wedding picture. But this year, with the exciting announcement of our own little bun in the over, I used a really fun template that included about 10 pictures–of course an obligatory u/s, a few of us, and then several of our adorable and spoiled Tibetan Terrier.

EMMY ME! I’ve gone the photoshop route and the handmade route, but this year I’m abstaining. It’s so lame to say it, but I’ve just been too busy! Since sending notes and cards is something I do year-round (just little thinking of yous and unexpected thank yous here and there), these would be AWESOME to win!

We usually do a silly photo and a more traditional one of the kids and send them out.

Last year we also did a family portrait that we made into thank you cards and sent them out the first of the year.

I am still a fan of good, old-fashioned hand written notes and thank you’s.

Because Christmas can be so busy and we would rather have time to reflect on the season rather than adding one more thing to the to-do list, we send out happy new year cards instead!

Our Newfoundland dogs are the stars of our annual holiday card. We have had people request to get on our card list just to see that year’s picture. Unfortunately people like them so much that the pressure is really on to come up with something great. And of course, if you thought taking a photo with a family of four was bad … try it with two dogs weighing in at a total of 265 pounds.

Depends on the year, but most of the time I opt for pre-packaged, albeit cute, holiday cards. (Bought after Christmas on clearance, of course, and saved for the next year).
Last year was the exception in most recent history, as my husband and I were married in October, so we sent a photo card with a few of our favorite snapshots from the day.
