Fab Freebie: Olympic Color

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Paint a smile on your faces people, because that’s what we’re giving away this week! Paint, that is, not smiles (though hopefully smiles sort of come along with getting a prize, right?). This week we’re giving away a room full of paint from Olympic (that means 2 gallons of Olympic Premium Interior Paint and 1 gallon of primer) to THREE people. Woo hoo! We love this stuff because now no matter what color you get mixed, it’s still 100% VOC-free. Can’t beat that, right? And that’s exactly why we used it in our bathroom remodel earlier this year. Plus, Olympic just launched a new, free desktop application called ColorClix to help inspire your perfect palette.

Olympic ColorClix

Once downloaded, the little ColorClix box invites you to click anywhere on your desktop – a photo, a video, an icon, whatever – and syncs that color with one in the Olympic catalog. Like if I wanted to build a room around the adorable picture of a snoozing chihuahua I’d just have to click anywhere on his fur to get an Olympic paint color (apparently Burger’s eyebrow is “Stony Creek”). It also displays the rest of the colors on the virtual swatch as well as recommended complimentary colors.

Olympic Burgers Palette

The program also lets you save all of your inspiration colors in projects sorted by room and then you can use those saved projects to virtually paint rooms on Olympic.com. You know, if you really wanted to go as far as to let your dog’s coloring determine the coloring of your walls.

Olympic Mock Bedroom

So go have some fun playing with ColorClix and check out the rest of this week’s details:

  • PRIZE: One room of paint from Olympic, including 2 gallons of Olympic Premium Interior Paint and 1 gallon of primer
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about a photo, object, or other inspiration item that you’d love to draw some paint palette inspiration from. Did you photograph a stunning landscape recently that could lend itself to an accent wall color? Have you spotted a vase or pillow at the store that could inspire a whole room?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

My honey and I live with our 3 boys in a 2bdrm condo. To get more space for the boys we moved them into the master, but now we have their old room and I’m not so keen on their blue & green striped border anymore. I recently went to a spa and loved their relaxing color palette… browns, tans, burgandy, orange and muslin hanging from the ceiling. So warm and inviting. But then I’m a beachy girl at heart and a summery bedroom with blues and tans would be great too! Choices, choices!

    PAINT ME!

After a whole weekend of cleaning out closets, paring down furniture, giving away as much as we could (totally inspired by your do-more-with-less mentality!) – we went to target today and found the most perfect living room rug. Only problem? It completely clashes with the paint on the walls. We would LOVE this paint and plan to use the olympic tool to get just the right colors!

PAINT ME! We are in the process of buying a house and I know I’ll be painting up a storm. Since we’re in the northwest, we’ll be keeping things light and bright to keep it cheerful inside on those dark, rainy days. I get my inspiration from all kinds of places….nature, fabric, photos, etc.

Also, thanks for the painting tutorial on the previous post. Perfect timing!

We are in the process of picking out interior and exterior colors for our 1920’s craftsman house.

Everytime we go across the bridge over Tampa Bay I draw inspiration for a color pallette from the blues and greens in the water. Hopefully we will be able to paint the accent colors on the exterior of the house with those ocean inspired hues!:)

“Paint Me” We are focusing right now on our house so we can “live” in it without always having a project since our “project house” is Rita’s Rambling Ranch”.

Our eight year old daughter has always had a pink room since she inherited the color from her sister. Now it is her time to shine. She would like a “Parisian bistro” theme. Hopefully she can use this tool with me to get a better idea what colors she would like in her bedroom. She has silver plate servers. real china dishes and plastic “crystal” displayed on her shelfs already to serve her next guest.

I see more pink, black, stripes and polka dots. I don’t know if that is what she sees!

Thank you for a great giveaway!

    Always, Teresa T.

I’ve actually used this tool! It started when I couldn’t find any nursery bedding that I liked, so I got some Asian-inspired purple and green prints. A friend of mine is making everything, and I used the colors from the fabric to narrow down the paint color with Color Clix!

The ceiling is Diamond Blue, the walls are Flowering Raspberry and Mauve Magic.
