Fab Freebie: Olympic Color

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Paint a smile on your faces people, because that’s what we’re giving away this week! Paint, that is, not smiles (though hopefully smiles sort of come along with getting a prize, right?). This week we’re giving away a room full of paint from Olympic (that means 2 gallons of Olympic Premium Interior Paint and 1 gallon of primer) to THREE people. Woo hoo! We love this stuff because now no matter what color you get mixed, it’s still 100% VOC-free. Can’t beat that, right? And that’s exactly why we used it in our bathroom remodel earlier this year. Plus, Olympic just launched a new, free desktop application called ColorClix to help inspire your perfect palette.

Olympic ColorClix

Once downloaded, the little ColorClix box invites you to click anywhere on your desktop – a photo, a video, an icon, whatever – and syncs that color with one in the Olympic catalog. Like if I wanted to build a room around the adorable picture of a snoozing chihuahua I’d just have to click anywhere on his fur to get an Olympic paint color (apparently Burger’s eyebrow is “Stony Creek”). It also displays the rest of the colors on the virtual swatch as well as recommended complimentary colors.

Olympic Burgers Palette

The program also lets you save all of your inspiration colors in projects sorted by room and then you can use those saved projects to virtually paint rooms on Olympic.com. You know, if you really wanted to go as far as to let your dog’s coloring determine the coloring of your walls.

Olympic Mock Bedroom

So go have some fun playing with ColorClix and check out the rest of this week’s details:

  • PRIZE: One room of paint from Olympic, including 2 gallons of Olympic Premium Interior Paint and 1 gallon of primer
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about a photo, object, or other inspiration item that you’d love to draw some paint palette inspiration from. Did you photograph a stunning landscape recently that could lend itself to an accent wall color? Have you spotted a vase or pillow at the store that could inspire a whole room?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Olympic Paints.

We just returned from a vacation in Antigua and the stunning turquoise of the water has inspired me to do something in our guest room with a bold color!

Oh my ugly bathroom with the peachy-salmon tile might be redeemable. There’s a picture in the color issue of MSL that gives me hope: my cat’s-nose pink will be tempered by cool, quiet gray.

PAINT ME PAINT ME PAINT ME PAINT ME!!! My husband and I just moved into my grandparents house that hasn’t been painted since about 1973…can you say mauve, mint green, and puke yellow? This would be AWESOME. As for inspiration, I’m a mother to two little ones (2 1/2 and 6 months). They have the most unique blue eyes (although I’m not a bit partial!!)…so if I could match paint to that color you wouldn’t be able to stop me from painting. Love your blog and look forward to more posts….P.S. I totally ordered some of those magnetic alphabet letters from Etsy. I’d been looking for some like that FOREVER so Thanks!

PAINT ME! I have so many pictures I could do this too… including a beautiful sunset on the water, a pretty blue sky while in Colorado, garden photos for a fun punch of bright green, pink or yellow, and so many others! AND I really like the color of walls based on Burger’s eyebrows! Am I the only one?

I would love to paint our living room (two shades of neutral tan for the walls and crisp white for the trim and chair rail). I used Olympic no-VOC paint in our nursery, and I just love it!

    PAINT ME!

Ok a picture…it is really a pic of a pillow case. A very long time ago…I had moved from one coast to another only to be transplanted in the midwest. It was a very hard time in my life and I found myself in a store looking for bed linens. Well I bought a sheet set solely because of the color. It was a buttery yellow color that made me happy when I saw it. I don’t even like yellow but that one was happiness. Several years and a divorce and a new marriage later…all that was left was a pillow case. While I was in labor with my daughter my doula suggested I bring my own pillow to the hospital. Of course, that is the one I chose. All I have left is a picture of the pillow case.

I have a pretty, semi-giant 70’s lamp that feels and weighs like it is made out of concrete. It has a chevron pattern around the whole base that is an amazing shade of coral. How I could incorporate into any design scheme is still a mystery but paint would be a good start! ;)

Paint Me — my husband and I had some canvases that were taken out of frames from the thrift store. We painted the canvases white then did our own paintings: only applying the paint with things found in nature (a flower, sticks, etc). They are white, grey, and red, and the perfect inspiration for our master bedroom. Yay for paint!

This post is timed perfectly! I spotted this pillow at Wal-Mart and hope to design our new bedroom around it:

    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hometrends-Horus-Decorative-Pillow/13269417

I think I’d like to do silver-gray walls, white bedding and curtains, and use the color of this pillow as an accent/accessory color. Our furniture is black. I’ve never done this before and I’m pretty nervous! You guys are an inspiration!

I’m dying to redo my master bedroom. I painted it brick red when I moved in 7 years ago. My inspiration for my new paint color came from a show my son watches on Nick, Drake & Josh. Ha! The show drives me crazy, but I love the living room.
