Moving is just about the antithesis of feeling organized. Which is why we’ve lined up this giveaway from Kacy at The Inspired Office. She’s a professional organizer who specializes in turning your space into a functional, productive, and (dare we say it) pretty place as part of her virtual video consultation called The Blueprint. And speaking of pretty, she has taken nuggets of organizing wisdom from over 12 years of doing this and put them on a stylin’ silkscreen poster.     BTW – I was wondering, did you do a clean out of old stuff, unwanted stuff, unused stuff when you packed for your move? I’ve been in my apartment for over years, and the amount of clutter I have collected over the years is insane, and I’m a little overwhelmed on how to best sort things on what to keep and what to give/throw away.

      Yes, we tried to go through everything about 3 weeks before we packed, and then pared down again when we packed, and then once we got here some items still seemed to sneak over that suddenly seem weird to have moved (things like small kitchen gadgets we’ve never used) so we made another donate pile. It seems to work for us to do a few passes to get any scragglers that snuck through :)

    I think it’s awesome that you guys aren’t making us “like” and “pin” and “tweet” a million things to enter. I love your blog enough to read it everyday, it’s annoying that other bloggers make readers jump through hoops to enter a giveaway.

    I love that you are doing a give away with Kacy! I have been following her for years, and love her weekly tips. I am excited that she stated blueprint since we left DC just after I learned about her. :( I need her to do my husband’s office! Funny having virtual world collide.     Just wanted to share an FYI — I have a flashblocker on my firefox, and I couldn’t even *see* the rafflecopter widget to approve it with my flashblocker. I just hopped on over to a different browser that I keep around for these types of situations. Just wanted to let you know in case others have a similar problem. I’m all down for saving you and your family time! Less blog maintenance time = more DIY fun!

    I always loved your giveaways because you didn’t use tools like Rafflecopter. I love reading all of the comments from the other entries, even to the point of going through the pages to read… and the widget just seems spammy and not authentic like your previous method… But I’m sure it’s going to save you tons of time and effort, so good luck!       Thanks Kate! So far we have loved it and have gotten a great response! We certainly don’t want things to look spammy, but once we saw lots of other folks using (and loving it) and realized it would save us DIY/family time (which will allow us to keep offering up weekly freebies to you guys without cutting back on them) we thought it was one of the most authentic things we could “outsource” to save time, as opposed to ever outsourcing comment responses to other posts, post writing, etc. Hope that makes sense!

    My home computer doesn’t like the widget. It seems to disappear before I can click enter. I’m running a scan to see if I have a bug of some sort.

    Luckily, my work computer is fine with it. :)

    Yay, for switching to Raffelcopter. And thanks bunches for not making me like, follow, and tweet about the giveaway in order to earn a chance for the prize.
    Just wondering if there is any reason why you don’t have your responses to our comments sent as an e-mail to the commenter. I didn’t know if because of the amount of comments this might overload your server if it was just a personal preference. Sometimes it’s hard for me to remember what number commenter I was if I’m able to come back and check responses. Receiving an e-mail would be so much easier.

      Yup, it’s the first one. We were crashing for a few days when we enabled that, and once we disabled that it stopped, so for now we can’t figure out how to do it without overloading the ol’ server but we’d love to get it working sometime!
