Fab Freebie: More Than Words

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below (along with some sweet discounts)!***

Before we announce our winners, let’s first get to two consolation prizes: discounts! Get 15% off your WordGarden order with code YoungHouseLove15 and get 15% off of your Everywhere We Look order with code YHL15.

As for our two winners, random.org has selected… Leah (who “definitely” loves typographic art) and Rebecca A. (who loves books and typographic art – which seemed to be a trend). Congrats ladies!

This week’s pair of prizes (for a pair of winners, no less) come from two Etsy sellers who have a way with words. Namely, they turn the written word into stylish pieces for your home. The first of which, WordGarden, takes text and graphics to give simple pillows a chic European flair – from bicycles and birdcages to his and hers sets. And two of you will be scoring a pair of pillows in any size and any design.

Word Garden Pillows

The other half of this week’s prize comes from Everywhere We Look, who creates book page wreaths that could be right out of Anthropologie. And each of this week’s winners will get a large-sized wreath (i.e over 250 pages turned into a 21″ wreath) that’s custom made just for them.

Everywhere We Look Wreath

  • PRIZE: Two pillows of any size from WordGarden and a large custom wreath from Everywhere We Look
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WORD ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us what form you particularly love seeing words take? Are you a sucker for typographic art (like me)? Have you never met a funny t-shirt or bumper sticker that you didn’t like? Do song lyrics do it for you? Or are you a traditionalist and simply love words in books, poems, and love notes?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 20th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States and Canada
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from WordGarden and Everywhere We Look.

Word me! Song lyrics are the best! I sometimes set things I need to remember to music so that I have an easier time remembering them.

    WORD ME!

I love typography art! And I love hanging words on my walls but they have today just the right thing, and that’s sometimes hard to find. I guess I think long and hard about the statement that I want to make.

    WORD ME!

I’m a big fan of single letters and words. Big, typographic fonts are my thing, and I consider myself somewhat of a fontophile. My favorite piece of art that I’ve seen in your house so far (I’m only on page 17 and I’m working backwards) is the number 7 that you replaced the filmstrip with.

I, like you, LOVE typographic art. My favorite font is without a doubt that that comes from an old fashioned typewriter. I am contemplating an “a” tattoo in typewriter font.. maybe winning this giveaway would hold me over from making a more permanent decision than home decor! :)

    “Word Me” Too!

Being an art major, I’m a sucker for typography! I love song lyrics even more! (Heck, our wedding cake was covered with the lyrics of “our song”)

My fav songwriter/artist at the moment is Mat Kearney. If you haven’t heard of him, check him out! Amazing sound + awesome lyrics + a few super cute love songs = Big Ole Crush

As for t-shirts, my best goodwill find from college has to be a Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater shirt that had the quote “I spent the Night with Burt Reynolds”! I got tons of response when I would wear it! :D

I love books. I love to read at all times. I switch back and forth between my kindle and books pretty much everyday.

I also love street signs that end up sounding really funny. Usually because they are lost in translation. So funny

I used to love huge quote posters – when I was in high school I had huge quotes plastered all over my room. Now I try to temper it a bit better into prettier, more artsy quotes and simple words.

my favourite object with words all over it is my stainless steel water bottle from lulu lemon…it has inspirational (and sometimes funny) phrases like “do one thing a day that scares you”, “successful people replace the words ‘wish’, ‘should’ and ‘try’ with ‘i will’ and ‘the conscious brain can only hold one thought at a time. choose a positive thought.’
