Fab Freebie: More Than Words

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below (along with some sweet discounts)!***

Before we announce our winners, let’s first get to two consolation prizes: discounts! Get 15% off your WordGarden order with code YoungHouseLove15 and get 15% off of your Everywhere We Look order with code YHL15.

As for our two winners, random.org has selected… Leah (who “definitely” loves typographic art) and Rebecca A. (who loves books and typographic art – which seemed to be a trend). Congrats ladies!

This week’s pair of prizes (for a pair of winners, no less) come from two Etsy sellers who have a way with words. Namely, they turn the written word into stylish pieces for your home. The first of which, WordGarden, takes text and graphics to give simple pillows a chic European flair – from bicycles and birdcages to his and hers sets. And two of you will be scoring a pair of pillows in any size and any design.

Word Garden Pillows

The other half of this week’s prize comes from Everywhere We Look, who creates book page wreaths that could be right out of Anthropologie. And each of this week’s winners will get a large-sized wreath (i.e over 250 pages turned into a 21″ wreath) that’s custom made just for them.

Everywhere We Look Wreath

  • PRIZE: Two pillows of any size from WordGarden and a large custom wreath from Everywhere We Look
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WORD ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us what form you particularly love seeing words take? Are you a sucker for typographic art (like me)? Have you never met a funny t-shirt or bumper sticker that you didn’t like? Do song lyrics do it for you? Or are you a traditionalist and simply love words in books, poems, and love notes?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 20th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States and Canada
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from WordGarden and Everywhere We Look.

I love a fabulous font! The font on the street signs at Disney Studios in California so clean and sleek, yet fun. I have several “word” signs in my house, I switch them out depending on the season. Remember Celie learning to read in The Color Purple when they labeled everything? Genius!

WORD ME a license plate. Growing up my mom ALWAYS wanted to try to figure out personalized license plates and what the person was going for, and why they wanted and on and on creaing a whole backstory. It used to drive me crazy, but now I treasure those special times with all of us in the car together, turning a family trip into a nerdy word lesson.

As a graphic designer, my heart belongs to typography. Though, I do love a good tee. (My favorite, and my moms least favorite is of a cow stepping in “mud” and it reads, “some days you do, some days you don’t”)

WORD ME! I LOVE it when people take photographs of items or nature that form letters! For example a branch that might grow in such a way that it forms the letter “A”. Then you put the picures together to spell a word! Very awesome! I just love photography!

WORD ME! I LOVE words. I’m a Rhetoric/English major from UC Berkeley and I honestly can’t think of a word I’ve met, in any form (ie. art, spoken, written, signed, etc.), that I didn’t like. This anniversary I gave my hubby a framed piece of art that says, “this is our happily ever after.” I love how it means something new to each of us every time we look at it. Go words!
