Scoutmob is a lot of things (flash deals, events calendar, online flea market…) but through it all there’s a charming emphasis on local. This week they’re inviting two of you to spend $200 in their Shoppe, a curated collection of independent artisans and makers who often weave hometown pride into their work. There’s tons of cheery, clever, and skillful stuff to discover, and you can browse by category or even by city. You know, if you wanna see just what your neighbors are making these days.

PIZZA & wine! ….I’m a big fan of doctoring up an already great Whole Foods take’n bake pizza – add a great salad & you’ve got a really good (easy) meal. I just did this with some friends for dinner on Sunday. It was a lot of fun :)

With our hometown recently named, by Forbes and not anyone who truly matters, the #3 most miserable city in America, I’ve taken it upon myself to support as many local shops and businesses as possible to prove that it isn’t going to get us down.
