Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We usually do Christmas dinner at our house, which I LOVE doing, but this year we’ll have about a 3-week-old newborn, so I think it’s going to be at my parents’ place. :-)

We party at Grandma’s house on Christmas Eve and then go to my parent’s house for a big breakfast Christmas morning. I’ll have to have friends over sometime though so I can show off my decorations. It just seems like a waste if my husband and I are the only ones who see them!

I prefer attending Christmas parties mainly because it means I don’t have to clean up after all the guests have left. I always try and bring something to the host/hostess to say thank you for hosting – items like wine, a Christmas ornament, a serving platter etc.

It will be just me and the husband for Christmas this year.

My tip for entertaining: keep a list of food and beverage ideas for entertaining throughout the year. I’m constantly trying a new cheese/olive/wine/recipe that would be perfect to serve at (or bring to) a party, but by the time I get around to planning, of course I’ve forgotten the brand or where I found it. So now I keep a list with my cookbooks.

I prefer to be entertained at other people’s homes so that I don’t have a messy house to clean up after everyone leaves haha. I think the most important tip to being a great host is make sure your guests are comfortable. It doesn’t matter how great the food is and how beautiful your home is if you don’t feel comfortable in your surroundings.

My sister-in-law and I split the holidays so that it doesn’t fall on the shoulders of just one person. I get Thanksgiving and she gets Christmas. I love to entertain, but sometimes it is nice to not have to worry about. :) I think the best thing a hostess can do is to have fun. If you are having fun everyone else, in turn, will have fun! :) Also, if someone offers to help…let them. Don’t try to do it all on your own (I personally struggle with this one! haha!). :)

Christmas is going to be at my sister’s house this year but New Year’s is at my house. My boyfriend just moved in this weekend and we are extremely excited about the upcoming holiday!

Being a little party planner myself, just a hobby, I think being a great host you should always have yummy snacks and a fire going (during this season) and just be a gracious host by bringing something like a bottle of wine, maybe a pie? =)

My fiance and I just bought a house this past March, and I decided it would be a great idea to host both of our families for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the Day after Christmas. Why I decided that would be a great idea to not just host Christmas during our first year in our house, but three days straight, I’m not so sure, because I’m now totally overwhelmed:) At least our dining room table would like nice if we have these fab decorations! Thank goodness my fiance cooks (my cooking consists of pouring cereal in a bowl). So my advice is – pass the cooking off to your significant other! My plan is to stand around in an apron looking like I’m doing something:)

I am planning on doing Xmas at the future in-laws this year.
Last year I spent it home alone (ok, the cat was there) and I’d like something sparkly to look at this year to put me in a better mood.
(Love your blog, and congrats!!! Might as well mix everything into one comment.)
