Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I like being entertained. . I grew up in a family of all older girls so they were always in charge of the cooking/entertaining so I wouldn’t even know where to start!

Having been ill since Halloween, I’ve been unable to do any shopping for decor or decorating. These beautiful mercury glass objects would bring some much-needed sparkle to our house. We are guests far more often than hosts, and my rules are don’t arrive early, don’t stay too late, be funny and charming, and do what you can to help ensure other guests have fun too.

Z-ME. We always have my husband’s family for Christmas Eve, but years ago I established the night as picky foods only. It’s easy and we all get to visit rather than worrying about major prep. When I am the visitor, helping with the dishes is always appreciated

The smaller the better when it comes to holiday celebrations if you ask me. A Christmas day spent in front of the fireplace and out walking the beach with the dogs and the hubby would be just about perfect.

We are planning on hosting a “White Trash Gingerbread” party this season where we will have everyone over to make and decorate their own gingerbread houses using “trashy” items like graham crackers, canned icing, marshmallow peep trees and various other treats and candies. I think it will be good fun!

We live a state away from both of our families, so we are always houseguests. The biggest tip I have is to watch your dog so he doesn’t go on your mother’s house plants, like mine this weekend. Oops :)

I hosted Thanksgiving, but will be spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at family members’ houses.
I think being a great hostess is catering to your guests. My cousin-in-law is vegetarian, so I made sure as much as possible fit her diet; I also had snacks and drinks that I knew people love.
If you don’t know what they like, just ask! People love to share their favorites and enjoy the personal touch.

I like to entertain. However, I most like entertaining on a simple scale when I can enjoy the time as well as play hostess. I like to have everything prepared and just “roll it out” when guests arrive so I’m not in the kitchen the whole time.

Z Me! Most of our friends live in the same neighborhood, and many in walking distance, so every December we have a traveling Christmas party. Each house hosts for an hour, and provides an appetizer and a cocktail. It’s a fun way to see all of our friends houses decorated for the holidays!

We probably won’t have many people into our house for Christmas, but we are hosting a baby shower in mid-December so I’m excited to have the tree up for all to see!

I LOVE when people have hand lotion out in the guest bathroom. I always seem to have drier skin when I travel, and having lotion sitting out is so nice! It’s one of the first things I bought for our guest area when we bought out house – bought that even before we got sheets for the guest beds!

I love to entertain and use our “good dishes.” I have my grandmother’s glass party dishes that I love to use for parties. I don’t worry about someone breaking them. Dishes are to be used! You only live once. :)

Z me please!!! I love mercury glass, especially at the holidays. We host a holiday open house every year, its like our thing. This year we have to have it earlier than usual, its this weekend, so I gotta get my butt in gear. A nice mix of guests, good food, signature drinks, holiday music, lots of candles, all good staples for a great party:)

What I don’t love is the hectic holiday schedule… We host a quaint little dinner for 20 in the evening, after having spent the day carting two babies all over town from one family event to the other! I’m really not complaining tho- there’s something special about being surrounded by family for the holidays.

We’re not hosting this year – traveling to see the in-laws, but envision a vintage classic Christmas at home next year! Tips on being a great guest: always offer to help out – serve, prep, etc to make sure your hosts aren’t stuck in the kitchen the entire time. And always, always offer to help clean up when the party’s over!

We absolutely love to entertain! We usually do a formal dinner party sometime over the holiday season with our BFF’s, and this year I’m contemplating a wine tasting as well.

My tip for guests? Don’t keep changing your plans. Come when you say you’re going to come and try to stick to the original schedule as much as possible. Hosts want to be accommodating, but it gets tricky when everyone’s schedule keeps changing!
