Fab Freebie: From Our House To Yours

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries ***

This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.

The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:

The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…

Img 3365

…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…

Rhino From Zgallerie Cerami

…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):

Candle Sconce Detail

That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…

Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

    FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!!

We’re currently renovating so I don’t have much of a signature piece… But, there are several things that currently stick out in my mind. Everyone always comments on my white obsession – velvet couches, everything in the bathroom, kitchen, linens, etc. And, I literally put a signature on almost everything that I buy. I believe in not buying something unless you love it because I’m a sucker for sales & Home Goods (& I’ve recovered from those mistakes). However, I rarely find something I love (unless I’m in Z Gallerie or another store that is simply unreasonable in price point for my budget). So, I buy things that I can make into something I love with a little extra paint, embellishment, etc. Therefore, it’s literally my signature.

From your house to mine. Yeah! What a great giveaway! The item in my house that gets the most comments right now is a large rolling rooster basket from Wisteria http://www.wisteria.com/Wheeled-Animal-Baskets-Large-Rooster/productinfo/W2898/ I use mine to hold an assortment of cloth napkins. The husband (who is not a fan) has threatened to tell the mother-in-law that I now collect rooster stuff. The consequences of such an action are too horrible to contemplate!

I think the thing that defines me in my house is anything and everything white. From my white towels to white candles to white accent pieces throughout the house. People gasp in surprise when I buy brown towels or a piece of servingware that isn’t white. :)

“FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” (with fingers crossed!)

I would say my hubby and I’s signature item is the quilt I made for him for his 30th birthday – he played basketball in college and my dad was his coach! That is how we met…so for his 30th I got my dad to round up my dear hubby’s old basketball jerseys from when he played in college and I turned them into a quilt – it is a great way to remember his college basketball career, and what ultimately brought us together! :)

P.S. First time posting, but I lurk on your blog DAILY – it is my lunchtime break and I look forward to your new posts every day to get inspired!!

I LOVE Z Gallerie! Everytime I go into one of their locations, I leave wanting to just redecorate my home with their items.

Signature item . . . hmm, that would be the letters or words scattered in some way, shape, or form around my house. I like using single large letters as a design element, or spelling out something with multiple letters. Visually, the graphical nature of unfussy typography really appeals to me. I use it on my scrapbooks and mini albums alot as well.

Oh MY, how timely!! I spent over an hour at ZGallerie this morning, spending my Mother’s Day gift card. I settled on the new White Nikko Fountain and a matching ceramic book to set it on. These are SURE to become my new signature pieces when we finally move and get settled. For now, they’re on my dresser here in my temporary room, and they are definitely signature. Thanks you guys, I am a ZGallerie addict in the making! :)

I think we have a few signature pieces in our house. We have a silver airplane model inside our front door, with a propeller that spins (Husband is a pilot), along with a glass fish vase from Target with an open mouth, which houses our shell collection and sand from the beach from our honeymoon in the Cayman Islands. Great conversation starters! :)

Our signature items are probably our huge wine glasses and long L-shaped couch. Our couch is the only one big enough for us and our 4 best friends, so we’re always having get-togethers at our place. And when that happens, drinks are flowing, but luckily we don’t have to get up every two seconds for refills because the glasses are so big!

I heart that clamshell. I need it:)) My signature piece has to be the Astrid chair in Naive Tropical from Anthro. After coveting that chair for over a year, but not wanting to pay the crazy price plus shipping, I walked into the store just as they were marking the floor model down to less than a third of the price. I snapped it up and stuck that bad boy in my backseat and everyone always says that it is so “me”. I absolutely love it!
