Fab Freebie: From Our House To Yours

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries ***

This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.

The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:

The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…

Img 3365

…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…

Rhino From Zgallerie Cerami

…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):

Candle Sconce Detail

That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…

Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

Holy schmoly this is one heck of a giveaway! I’m getting goosebumps just thinkin’ about the young house goodness! A signature piece of our place? Hhhmm, everyone that comes over wants to lay on our bed, it’s one of those foam memory beds. All of the guys want to jump on one side with a glass of wine on the other. Needless to say, it hasn’t happened yet.

I have a collection of rock with holes in them. If I see a rock with a hole in it, I keep it. I really don’t know why I do it, but we have then everywhere. It’s my thing.

Signature items in my home are hopefully all quiet pieces that take people a while to look at them and appreciate that they are just a little different, unexpected or a familiar classic.

The “signature” piece in piece in my home is probably my 1960’s avocado green oven! I love the looks of it but don’t care much for the ancient stove top. That’s just what you have to deal with in a rental though!

I don’t think we have ‘one’ signature item, but the idea that we always have a collection of photos together-on the wall, shelf, you name it. We are big into photography and artwork with the occasional architectural model (from all our years in school) thrown in for good measure!

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love the color orange. I found a piece of vintage fabric in a mod print with punchy orange squares throughout and framed it into a large wall-hanging. It sums up my love of things modern with my propensity toward all things orange.

    From Your House to Mine…

I would have to say that the piece in our home that defines us the most is the Chinese Foo Dog statue that I’ve had since college. It followed me through my dorm rooms to my own place to eventually on our front porch now in married life. He’s colorful, he spices up the porch, he’s Steve.

I haven’t figured out what item does it, but everyone who comes into the house says it looks like “me,” which I love. I’m not sure that it can be contributed to one thing, though! If I had to pick one thing that I thought captured my style, it would be a rustic farm table with metal side chairs for an eclectic look.

FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE! My husband would probably say that the red, cow-shaped creamer would be that one special item. It started out as something that I passed between myself and a friend, but while my husband was living all alone (and 20 hours away from me) before we got married, he had that cow to remind him of me. I’m not sure what that says about me now that I think about it…

I don’t there is a specific item that is really “me” in my house. I think what is “me” is that fact that every single house I have ever owned (3 in total) I have redone 1000+ sf of flooring or done some major remodel. :o)

My signature item is the one of a kind painting that my husband and I got on our honeymoon in Italy. It hangs above our couch in our living room. It’s so full of color and was hand painted by an Italian man we met in Positano! It’s a beautiful reminder of the most amazing trip and it’s something we will have for a lifetime!
