Fab Freebie: From Our House To Yours

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries ***

This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.

The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:

The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…

Img 3365

…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…

Rhino From Zgallerie Cerami

…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):

Candle Sconce Detail

That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…

Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

    FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!

Not really sure if I have a signature item yet, but people know we have lots of family photos around the house.

    Thanks for the contest opportunity!

I have so many signature pieces but my favorites are a very regal lion statue I picked up at a thrift store, and pretty much everything I find on Craigslist!

    FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!

My signature piece has to be a giant vintage Danskin plastic advertisement poster. It’s a huge and thankfully sturdy drawing of a woman posing with a sassy expression (some of my friends find her a little creepy) and angular body- I inherited it from my uncle and have displayed her in a common room ever since!

Signature piece…I would have to say an antique silver dish that I received from my grandfather. It was my great grandmothers, and now holds our wedding rings at the end of the day.

I would say my signature piece is the oil on canvas painting that I purchased when I lived in Prague, Czech Republic. Every time I look at it it reminds me of my second home. :)

Our “signature” piece would have to be a framed baseball poster DH picked up on a trip to Louisville (at the Louisville Slugger Museum). It’s a combination of basebally and Americana, but not kitschy – very classy. I’d like to think we’re like that. :)

From your house to mine! Oh, I love these all so much and have spent inordinate amounts of time drooling over them!

And I don’t know if they’re “signature” items, but you can most definitely always find white agates scattered throughout my house. We pick these up down at the river we live near and I’ve got them in bowls, jars, lined up on the windowsill … you name it!

From your house to mine! i think the signature item in our house is actually a pair of items. We have two carved wooden elephants that my husband and i got before we were married. We each had one in our separate apartments and now they are back together.

    FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!

Given that we’re newlyweds and just bought our first home back in September, I don’t know if we have a signiture item in our house just yet. Does a big flat screen tv count? It’s not too decorative (its the Samsung with the infamous “touch of red”), but it sure is the first thing you see when you walk in the door!

A signature item in my house would be basically anything distressed. I believe that when people see my distressed pieces and my cottage style, they think “that is so Stacy”.

    That rhino is amazing!

My “signature” item is a large photo printed on canvas that I took on our honeymoon in the North Shore of Minneapolis (photo here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sa4jFrt3B4M/Sd4n-QU4zPI/AAAAAAAACt0/rlxfG7b6T4s/s1600/livingroom.jpg)

We are also a young married couple starting out with our first home and many renovation projects. Your site is an inspiration to us as we have quite a bit of work ahead of us! I think the white rhino would look spectacular on the built-in shelves we plan to build around our fireplace when we finished our basement project (in process). If we don’t win, I may just have to order it for myself next time we have some “fun money” available. I sort of love it already. :)
Thanks for such a great blog!

Wow, my wife would love these items! I’d sure love to surprise her with them for HER birthday next week.

I’d say a signature item for me would be a collection of vintage Maurice Sendak (Where the Wild Things Are) posters that hang in our stairway.
