Fab Freebie: From Our House To Yours

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries ***

This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.

The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:

The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…

Img 3365

…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…

Rhino From Zgallerie Cerami

…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):

Candle Sconce Detail

That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…

Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

I don’t really have one signature piece. But I do love white ceramics, and have a thing for birds and bird prints. I have a few pieces of lovely white birds in the house, that could sure use some more friends :)

The signature piece in our house is a fabulous world globe pieced together with stone to represent each country. We got just days after our wedding seven months ago as a wedding gift to ourselves. Even at 70% off we really knew we couldn’t afford it, but I just couldn’t walk away. The next morning I woke up with thoughts of it on my mind, so we went back and bought it. Even though it plainly sits atop the table in our living room everyone who comes into our house remarks how amazing it is. We’ll never let it go!

Love your website – Keep up the great work!

I didn’t get to finish! This huge oil painting of a Chinese man smoking a hand rolled cigarette (at least I hope that’s what it is!). I hate it but my husband inherited from his mother and loves it so we’ve had to hang it in every apartment we’ve had.

Something that is “so me” in our house is…I’m sad to say, but it’s clutter. Well, well-intentioned clutter. I mean well, but I’m just always two steps behind, so it never shocks people when they find a closetful of randomness that’s been shoved in there 2 minutes before they’ve come over. Ha!

Oh, I’m so glad you got your comments fixed… I was starting to sweat that I wouldn’t be able to enter to win this great giveaway! I can honestly say that we don’t have a signature piece. We just moved into our first home and 99.9% of the things in it are hand-me-downs… so nothing really feels like OURS! I cannot wait to start decorating and hope to completely re-outfit it next year! I’ll let you know then what we come up with as our signature piece. :)

My signature piece is a giant canvas on our wall. It’s a blue and green trout. Someone literally painted a trout blue and green and then pressed it onto a canvas, and we paid 25 dollars for it. I like to think he died of natural causes. But I’m gunna be honest, I mostly just think I’m pretty awesome for having such a cool thing in my home.

*** I really like free stuff.
    ****I never win anything.
*****I have some personal history with a rinasaurus which would give this piece added value in my home.

    k. bye.

    Hi there,
Love Z Gallerie…great giveaway. My one item would be a gorgeous chandelier that we found in the eves of the garage from a house we purchased. The owners said it was there when they moved in. I had it restored for only $100.00 and it looks amazing. I love it and have moved it over the years to many homes. Love your blog and giveaway. Thank you.

As for my ‘signature’ item… it’s a pair of slipper chairs that my grandmother purchased way back when. She was a housewife and saw these two chairs in a shop window and knew she had to have them. So bad in fact that she went out, got a job and put the chairs on layaway… signing over her checks each week. They are so wide and beautiful and truly unique. They not only reflect my personal style in a nutshell, but have a great story behind them of one of my favorite ladies!

Keep up the great work you two!!!
