Fab Freebie: From Our House To Yours

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries ***

This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.

The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:

The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…

Img 3365

…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…

Rhino From Zgallerie Cerami

…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):

Candle Sconce Detail

That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…

Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

As for a signature piece, we don’t have any yet because we’re in the process of purchasing our first home. All we have is a bunch of cheap apartment furniture!

According to my husband, our signature piece is the huge painting that I found at one of those “Starving Artist” expos. The painting is of a Parisian sidewalk with many layers of chunky colors and tons of texture. It’s the first thing you see when you walk into our home. All of the colors through our home are represented in it. I imagine it hanging in every home we have and being the one thing that our kids will fight over when we pass!

my signature would be 2 really large silver vases that are filled with anything from just branches to fresh evergreen depending on the season, that we keep on a large buffet we got from India (love that too!) those sconces would look great above it….

From Your House to Mine! I love that clamshell! My signature pieces have to be my collection of vintage metal serving trays that I have found at flea markets. I have one hanging on the wall, and others I use to serve drinks, appetizers, etc. I just love them!

FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE! I’m needing that clam shell.

My current signature item is a white ceramic vase that is a young sitting deer with antlers. The flowers go in its back. Sounds cheesy but is really quite beautiful, especially at $1.99 (Goodwill!).

I would say that my signature piece is a large painting in my room- it pictures a girl, with a large hat, jeans and a belt- very abstract and done in black and white acrylic paints. Everyone that comes to my house asks “is that you?!”

My signature items are antique gold leaf frames that I buy at flea markets and tag sales, restore and then turn into mirrors. They look very french and beautiful. Recycling at its best.

As much as I would love to describe “our signature item” we have yet to find one. We are newlyweds and newhome owners, I am sure you can relate! I think the rhino would be pretty accurate. We are both into comfy contemporary minimal retro quirky silly cute stuff. Did I just invent a new design style? For now our two dogs represent us TO A T! My minimal contemporary mutt and his quirky silly english bulldog! PS I cant wait to get your help via a personalized mood board soon!

FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE! I love the items in my house that remind me of of our travels. The little red ceramic lamp from Cape Cod, the pillow from Newburyport, the tray displaying photos from travels to Europe (and acting as a side table on top of an ottoman). But the signature pieces that gets the most comments? A time line of Shakespeare’s works from my study abroad time in London.

    Thanks for the great blog!

the first piece of furniture my husband and purchased together is a 19th century dining table. we bought it at an antique store in charleston(where we met)for a super discount, and although it is crooked, quite low to the ground, and lumpy, it is truly our signature piece.

Hello! I have just found your blog and think you guys have an amazing home! It is very inspiring that you have done all the improvements on your own and are so creative! I love it all! The signature piece in our home would definitely have to be the wedding gift from my sister. She took the window piece from an old garage, primed, painted, and sanded and filled them with pictures of my husband and I. It is about 8 feet wide and hangs in our dining room, everyone always comments on it and we love it because it is one of a kind.

FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE! Our signature piece would be the two black bookshelves in our living room for a number of reasons. First, a family friend handmade them for us for a wedding gift. Second, my husband and I painted them ourselves in a nice, sleek, modern black. Third, the bookshelves show our love for reading and books – something significant to me since I am an English teacher.

My fiance and I just moved and I haven’t figured out what would be my/our ‘signature item.’ I do want to have awesome accessories that bring the rooms together, for example the Z Gallerie items! We have basic furniture to get us started so accessories will be the way to express ourselves without breaking the bank.

I may be comment number 1337, but it’s worth a shot, right?

I’m a graphic designer and think fonts are truly beautiful. My friends and family are amazed at the number of “f”s I have floating around the walls in my home. I have different fonts, mediums, lower and uppercase and sizes. My friends have actually toured my home with newbies we may have over during a get-together; people love looking for new ones I may have picked up.
