Fab Freebie: From Our House To Yours

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries ***

This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.

The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:

The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…

Img 3365

…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…

Rhino From Zgallerie Cerami

…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):

Candle Sconce Detail

That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…

Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

A signature piece around here? A small clock that sits on a little black shelf in the living room. We got it as a wedding gift and it’s always been one of my favorites!

My cherished item is a small iron cat holding a tray. He has been with us for over 20+ years and always finds a spot in our ever changing style makeovers.

From Your House to Mine! When I wanted to “little-girl-up”
a plain shower curtain (found at Marshalls) for my two-year-oold’s room, I sewed a couple butterflies out of a Pier One placemat and stitched a flower design along the bottom of the curtain. I don’t know if it’s our signature style, but it definitely has my handiwork in it.

FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!!! I do have a thing for my giant for and spoon. not sure i’ll ever get rid of it because when my 6 year was learning to talk she used to walk around yelling, ‘my giant fork and spoon’ in her cute little baby voice all mushed together. yep… try it and you’ll see why it’s so funny. ;) I plan on winning this one. tee-hee

    “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!”

I have a lot of favorites but the one that stands out is a painting my sister did of my wedding. It is a small and abstract representation of the day, and includes many things: family members, an angelic choir, Adam and Eve, wedding cake and more!

We have it centered on the wall above our headboard. It will always have a prominent position in our home!

My cherished objects are a white china dragon and floral vase that my grandmother gave me before she passed on. She picked them up in Hong Kong in the fourties, I love them, and I adore your white statement objects as well. They would look fab in my tiny bungalow!

Thanks for all you two do!!!

I’d say our signature item is a spiral metal wall decor piece that has 13 frames on it. I love photos and was able to include a picture of us with each of our best friends in each frame.

I am finding myself picking up more and more white ceramic at the moment. Can’t say which is my favorite. I think our signature piece is one which doesn’t even really go with our house any more – a battered tin mirror which was our first major house purchase over 15 years ago and has traveled around the world with us ever since. It may not appear to be “us”, but it is.

Signature piece would be a print I found at a thrift shop. To me it’s a mix of whimsy and folk. It is a picture of a couple at a cloud factory manufacturing clouds.
I bought before I married and had kids in hopes on passing it on to my child. It now hangs matted and framed in my daughter’s room and makes me smile every time I see it.

Our signature piece is definitely our cream leather couch. we got at a major mark-down price ($125!) because the former owners of it tried to clean it with harsh cleaners and they slightly damaged the back of it. But, we have it up against a wall and you can’t even tell there is anything wrong with it! It is broken in and cozy – just like us!!

My signature item is some large houndstooth print fabric. I recovered my dining room chairs in it and had some left over for 2 throw pillows on my couch. I’m from Tuscaloosa, AL so the houndstooth print is something I grew up seeing (on Bear Bryant’s famous hat).

Signature item is an old table leg from my grandmothers huge (seated 20) dinning room table. It is a turned, walnut hunk of wood that is about eight inches in diameter and three feet tall. I love it. It has been a plant stand, accent table and conversation piece for me since my first apartment.
