This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.
The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:
The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…
…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…
…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):
That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. I would love to say I have some fabulous “signature item” in my home- do dogs or husbands count? How about chalkboard chicken’s in boots? Yes, you read that right- it’s a chicken- 3-dimensional, about the size of a real chicken, and it is most definitely wearing boots. Big yellow ones. No joke. I mean really, couldn’t all chickens use a good, sturdy pair of boots??? According to my husband (who, important note here, is the reason the chicken still resides in our home which is NOT a barn, farm, coupe or even country motif for that matter) the best part about the chicken is that you can write all over the body with chalk. As if that were easy to do- I dare you to try to write with chalk on a round surface! Whoever thought this little absurd animal was a good idea, or better yet appropriate home décor, needs to go back to interior design school (don’t even ask how it found its permanent residence at my home- way too long of a story!). Alas- I thought perhaps I could pull a fast one- switch the rhino in for the chicken and said husband would be none the wiser? … Or at least when he notices (which he definitely will)I could make the very real argument that rhinos are masculine, while chickens in boots most definitely are not, right? I’m pretty certain there’s not enough room for both in our home- we’re not striving for a zoo afterall! Thanks for all of your offers, and thanks for all of your blogs- you guys are truly great!

I would have to say it’s my shower curtain from Target. I just love the earth tone colors: red, orange, gold and sage green. They are all muted colors that I seem to gravitate towards:)

I guess my “signature item” is these framed flags we got in Siena, Italy – each neighborhood in the town has their own flag, and we picked out out favorites. I’d love to go back someday and get some more!

Our signature piece right now is probably our Expedit bookcase. Nothing particularly unique about it, I know, but it’s the first thing you see upon walking in the door and we have it personalized with framed photos and mementos.
