Fab Freebie: From Our House To Yours

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries ***

This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.

The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:

The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…

Img 3365

…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…

Rhino From Zgallerie Cerami

…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):

Candle Sconce Detail

That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…

Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE! I never thought of Z Gallerie because they just sounded expensive to me but I looked at their website and they are not!

My signature items are two old windows that I bought at an antique store. I painted them white and then put crackle paint on them. So now they look antiquey. Hung them on our sky blue kitchen wall. Now I am thinking about adding black and white photos in some of the frames/panes.

FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE! Great giveaway…I saw all those items in my local ZGallerie on Friday and, I must say, they look even better in person than on the WWW. As for me, I suppose my sigature pieces are some Japanese wood block prints I picked up on the cheap off eBay. I had them framed and they’re now the feature art in my master bedroom.

If I had a signature item it would probably be fresh flowers. I have two little bud vases that I bought at Target and I like to pick up small, cheap bouquets from the grocery store and split them up. For some reason flowers just make the house look so cheery!

The signature item in our home is one deer antler on top of our entertainment center. I know, that sounds totally country-bumpkin but I promise since it’s just one it looks more like a sculpture. We love it.

    FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!

Since I’m in college and don’t really spend money on that many decor items, I would say that my signature piece would have to be something that is romantic and probably a simple floral design. I have a couple things that fit that description right now (comforter, rug) and I think most people I know would see them and think of me.

“FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” The rhino, clam shell, and sconces are so unique, which is what makes them special. Since we live in an apartment that isn’t totally customized to our liking, our signature item is our framed picture collage. It is like having a little bit of our friends and family helping us make our place a home.

My signature piece is a print that shows the progress of the Eiffel Tower as it was being built. A few years after receiving it as a gift my (then) boyfriend proposed just feet away from the Eiffel Tower. I love that print even more now that it brings back those great memories!
