The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:
The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…
…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…
…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):
That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. Since we just bought our first house a couple of months ago, it is very much still a work in progress and we don’t have too many accessories yet. However, I think that the living room and dining room furniture that my husband and I picked out together represent the marriage of our styles (and us!) very well. Traditional materials (for me, brown leather couches and deep, dark dining room set) in a modern style (for the hubby!)

Our signature piece I guess would be the huge glass cylinder filled with wine corks. I don’t think it is so impressive in decor standards but so many people comment on it. Or maybe they are just so horrified that we drink so much wine.

Also, I’d say mine is a picture in my living- its a collage of foreign money that was my great uncle’s from WWI. Its from Asia, Australia, and a few other areas, and still has such beautiful colors after all these years.

Oh, I read Beth’s post, and that reminds me–we do have a KitchenAid mixer with flames on it (decal). It’s not really a signature, though, since my husband wanted one “like Alton Brown’s”. But it does get a lot of comments.

One of my signature pieces would be an antique mirror that I bought about a year ago. Placed it right by my door to check the ol’ outfit on the way out. Beautiful and long, but was an ugly color when bought. I painted it a nice glossy white. Thanks.

Signature style – mine would be a warm, welcoming environment. Not too cluttered, but friendly.
Rhinos are my favorite animal, and I have at least one each room. I have ceramic ones, stone, marble, wood, and of course a beanie baby one. People love to give me rhinos, which sadly gets mixed up with the less stately hippo more often than you would ever believe.

My “signature item” is the driftwood-and-seaglass mobile I have hanging in the window over my kitchen sink.
