Fab Freebie: Eat Bright

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

This week we’re keeping the eco-friendly theme going with a freebie from Bright and Bold. They’re a great online resource for all sorts of green home wares, including the much-loved Envirosax bags and other items like jewelry and gifts. Plus, everything on the site ships to the US for free (our favorite four letter word), so you gotta give it them for making the world a happier place.

Bright And Bold Logo

This week we’re teaming up with Bright and Bold to offer up some earth-friendly products in a lunch-themed giveaway (shouldn’t more things in life be lunch-themed?). Three people can comment to win the perfect tools for a no-waste midday meal: their very own Klean Kanteen and a reusable Fresh Snack Pack bag. You’ve heard us rave about Klean Kanteens before (check it out here and here) and they’re consistently ranked as some of the best reusable, stainless steel bottles out there because they’re non-leaching and bpa-free. Which explains why we currently own three of them (only two are pictured because I keep one at work, so Burger’s filling in as an honorary member of the Klean Kanteen gang).

Bright Bold Kanteens

Along with the reusable water bottles, our trio of  winners will also score the Fresh Snack Pack bags which are a great reusable alternative to the traditional Ziploc disposable sandwich bags. They’re made of food safe, nontoxic, PVC-free, Pthalate-free plastic that’s easy to clean and it even folds out to make a placemat. So you no longer have to worry about getting mustard on your latest work assignment (or am I the only one who does that?).

Bright Bold Prizes

Here are this week’s entry details:

  • PRIZE: A reusable lunch kit from Bright and Bold (a 27oz Klean Kanteen in your color of choice & a Fresh Snack Pack of sandwich-sized lunch bags- valued at $34)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’LL EAT BRIGHT” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us your favorite go-to option for lunch? Grabbing a bite at a local restaurant? Indulging in last night’s leftovers? A classic PB&J?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, August 12th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA and our northern neighbors in Canada
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner(s) will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Until then, happy lunching…

I’LL EAT BRIGHT! Excellent give-away! My fave go-to-lunch is leftovers from dinner the night before. However, if the meal warrents no leftovers the night before – my staple lunch is all natural PB on a whole wheat english muffin with a nice crisp apple. Yum!

My favorite lunch if I can have it is peanut butter and pickles on toast. Don’t gag, it is really the best tasting sandwich ever, perfect sweet and salty mix.

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!

I’m all about the leftovers for lunch usually, but these days I work a 10-hour overnight shift, so I cook dinner before I go, plus I bring a sandwich or something savory, plus fruit, nuts, and maybe a cookie. Could really use some environmentally friendly packaging!

    I’ll eat bright!

My lunches are always natural PB& local honey, lots of veggies, and a saskatoon berry pancake. I’ll bring leftovers if I’m lucky. I never get sick of my lunches and truly love food. I’ve been wrapping my veggies and sandwich in wax paper to avoid the plastic, but it rips and isn’t reusable more than a couple times, so I’m really excited to see that there’s another option out there!

Leftovers are usually for our lunch to work – if no leftover, pack salad with loasted almond slices on top and fruits whatever I have at home.
I am not a big sandwich eater but sometimes I make eggsalad with wheat bread. mmmm so yum!

    My favorite 2 options:

A sandwich wrap – deli meat, sliced cheese, lettuce, carrots and peppers in a flavored sandwich wrap.

Plowman’s lunch – meat, cheese, fruit and bread – simple and always good!

My normal work week lunch is a turkey and cheese sandwich on whole grain bread (with lettuce and mustard), carrot sticks, Trader Joe’s strawberry yogurt (love that stuff!), and a piece of whatever fresh fruit we have at the moment. Yum!

I typically pack a turkey, cheese, lettuce and tomato sandwich on wheat bread, with pretzels, a piece of fruit and a nutri-grain bar. One of those usually doesn’t make it until lunch time though. I get the munchies around 11.

I bring my own lunch to work about 95% of the time. I usually bring left-overs from dinner the night before but I also have a few options in my freezer that are easy to microwave at work (veggie burgers from Trader Joes are my current favorite).

I’ll eat bright!! My go-to lunch is leftover salmon or shrimp from the night before (I always cook my seafood during the week because I’m an addict and my boyfriend, who works late on weeknights hates it! Then I save my boyfriend-friendly meals to cook on the weekends when we eat together.)

If I don’t have leftovers that day, I make tuna salad with lettuce, tomato and cheddar on extra fiber wheat bread with cherries and something sweet for dessert.

I’ve been dying for a kleen kanteen for ages now….I’m trying to save up to buy one, but I’m still using my BPE-filled old Nalgenes for now. Save me from the chemicals!!!
