Fab Freebie: Eat Bright

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

This week we’re keeping the eco-friendly theme going with a freebie from Bright and Bold. They’re a great online resource for all sorts of green home wares, including the much-loved Envirosax bags and other items like jewelry and gifts. Plus, everything on the site ships to the US for free (our favorite four letter word), so you gotta give it them for making the world a happier place.

Bright And Bold Logo

This week we’re teaming up with Bright and Bold to offer up some earth-friendly products in a lunch-themed giveaway (shouldn’t more things in life be lunch-themed?). Three people can comment to win the perfect tools for a no-waste midday meal: their very own Klean Kanteen and a reusable Fresh Snack Pack bag. You’ve heard us rave about Klean Kanteens before (check it out here and here) and they’re consistently ranked as some of the best reusable, stainless steel bottles out there because they’re non-leaching and bpa-free. Which explains why we currently own three of them (only two are pictured because I keep one at work, so Burger’s filling in as an honorary member of the Klean Kanteen gang).

Bright Bold Kanteens

Along with the reusable water bottles, our trio of  winners will also score the Fresh Snack Pack bags which are a great reusable alternative to the traditional Ziploc disposable sandwich bags. They’re made of food safe, nontoxic, PVC-free, Pthalate-free plastic that’s easy to clean and it even folds out to make a placemat. So you no longer have to worry about getting mustard on your latest work assignment (or am I the only one who does that?).

Bright Bold Prizes

Here are this week’s entry details:

  • PRIZE: A reusable lunch kit from Bright and Bold (a 27oz Klean Kanteen in your color of choice & a Fresh Snack Pack of sandwich-sized lunch bags- valued at $34)
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’LL EAT BRIGHT” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us your favorite go-to option for lunch? Grabbing a bite at a local restaurant? Indulging in last night’s leftovers? A classic PB&J?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, August 12th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA and our northern neighbors in Canada
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner(s) will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Until then, happy lunching…

Although my favorite lunch is probably not so bright as far as healthy goes, and I try to keep it to once a month max~ Philly (chicken) cheesesteak with cheddar cheese and broccoli, yum!

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT…

I am watching my weight, and so find that left overs are usually my go-to option for lunch! I actually cook extra so that I will have the left overs for the next day… besides I think it saves me money too, so why not??

There is a great little sushi restaurant by my office that my coworkers and I frequent for lunch – but if I’m not lucky enough to escape the office during the day, I usually bring soup. Its yummy and fills me up. Love the Kleen Kanteens!

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!

Our go-to lunch is always last night’s leftovers… There’s only two of us, so we make a recipe for four and have the leftovers for lunch. Makes for easy budgeting – we need groceries for dinner and some cereal to get through the week. :)

My typical lunch is a mixed green salad with all the side veggies I can find in the fridge, some feta and pine nuts, plus a homemade vinaigrette. Other times I’ll bring pita chips with homemade sun dried tomato and basil hummus and fresh fruit, all enjoyed from the city park with a view of the gorgeous Lake Michigan!

    I’LL EAT BRIGHT!!

Lately my favorite lunch is a yummy salad with some cherry tomatoes from our garden! My daughter loves some organic mac and cheese or a pb&j with a side of fruit or a veggie. I’ve been eyeing metal water bottles for a few weeks and haven’t found one that was just right, but the Klean Kanteen looks perfect! I need to replace my reusable plastic bottle, it was leaking all over me at the gym then I noticed it was cracked, most likely from me dropping it. That could be prevented with a metal bottle and would save me some embarassment at the gym!

    How cute! I’LL EAT BRIGHT!!

When my husband and I go out for dinner, I often find that the restaurant portion sizes are way bigger than I can or should be consuming in one sitting. I eat until I’m full (which doesn’t take long, especially if we get an appetizer) and take the rest home in a to-go box to enjoy for lunch the next day :-)

I also love the Kleen Kanteen–I have one that I take everywhere with me. A second one for work could come in handy! As for lunch, if I don’t brown-bag it, I always run to the bagel shop around the corner for a bagel w/ cream cheese, add a cup of soup if I’m really hungry.

Hmm. Lunch. During the school year it is a salad from the salad bar at the school where I work. Unless the kids can con me into sitting down and eating a slice of pizza (with ranch and jalapenos) with them. Good times. I do really need to start packing a lunch.

My coworker and I meet on the train every Monday on our way to work and stop off at the grocery store to stock up on sandwich stuff and good snacks for the week (which somehow mysteriously disappear when our bosses have late nights in the office…) — it’s a great way to wake up before work, enjoy a beautiful day, and gossip about our weekends!
